POWER TENDS TO CORRUPT, AND TOTAL POWER CORRUPTS COMPLETELY
We all know that politics is a dirty game but not all, we have some politicians who still have the affairs of their people at heart while we have some who are there to embezzle money and leave the people to suffer.
I believe politics should be a fair game where we accommodate everyone who runs to us for help and also make life easy for everyone not for only their family members.
When I was in school I was the treasurer for the student union government which we Know as SUG,
Student Union government is a group that advocates on behalf of students and acts as an interface between students and the management of higher education institutions. Usually, elected student representatives manage it. They plan events and activities, fight for students' rights, and offer assistance and resources to improve the educational process for all students.
student union governments are needed for organizing social and cultural activities including festivals, concerts, and parties. These gatherings encourage student engagement and participation in campus life by creating a sense of connection and togetherness.
I was in charge of the union's account, without my signature, no one could withdraw any funds from the account, In close relation with the Student Union President, Vice President, and other executive committee members, as the Treasurer of the Student Union Government I manages the effective distribution of funds and financial transparency.
As the treasurer I also develop and monitor the budget for the student union, which includes projecting income and allocating expenses, I also work with other members of the student government to plan and coordinate fundraising events.
During my tenure as the treasurer, I made sure that all my accounts were intact and that there were no traces of mismanagement, this is how politics started not until I ran for senator or house of assemble since I could manage the little kept in my care then managing the bigger one will not a problem.
In politics, truthfulness should be the key point, if you are not true with the little then there is no how you can move forward, people who are in politics now are after their pockets and never care about the people who put them there, they only work for themselves and mismanaged the funds and the government will be in debt at the end of their tenure.
Corruption: extortion, embezzlement, nepotism, and other illegal conduct are examples of corruption that many people worry about and their possible effects on politics. all this has to stop in politics, this hinders the growth of our country, they all fight for their pocket and leave the masses to suffer.
Social injustices and inequality: A lot of political systems come under criticism for failing to solve social injustices, promoting inequality, and providing inadequate security for those who are most vulnerable.
Lack Of Accountability: Before people vote for someone in a position they will believe that the person is trustworthy and must be able to account for anything in his or her care, politicians should be able to be responsible and also fulfill their promises when campaigning for the position, they need to be accountable for how they manage everything put in their care during their tenure.

You must have been a dogged comrade to have been in that position. School politics is no joke. And even at that little level, there's lots of ills still associated. In the political game,there's a lot to change. The unfairness and corruption needs serious works to be done to avert.
Then I was so determined and my friends supported my campaign from one lecture room to another, they never gave up on me, well there are so many things to change about politics, this politics is killing most people and every day the rate at which corruption is getting high is nothing to write about.
University politics is very crazy, and it gets worse as you keep going higher from departmental positions to SUG. Being a SUG treasurer is not easy at all, considering you will be dealing with a lot of money but it's great that you took your responsibility seriously and discharged your duty effectively
My dear it is not easy at all, it was only by grace I was able to graduate with my mate because the tasks were so demanding but I learned more about politics from there.
You must have been a comrade. School politics has its own intricacies. Everything happening with our political system is witnessed in the institutions of higher learning in Nigeria. I concur with your submission about Nigeria. A lot has to change.
We many things has to be changed about our politics in this country, politics is no more a fair game, it is now do or die, they kill each other for corruption and make life so unbearable for the masses.
It's very unfortunate. The situation gets worse daily.
Our area of interest regarding this topic has a lot in common. I nearly participated in school politics when I was in school but I eventually realise what it could cost if I decide to attempt it.
Being a treasurer comes with a lot of responsibilities and any wrong judgement could lead to devastating consequences and criticism from the students.
It has become more difficult to find a politician who does engage in corrupt practices, they all believe they are above the law.
It is so difficult to handle but If you work with some people who are willing to support and make everything more easier is the best that was the set of people I worked with, though it is so demanding and time consuming, meetings upon meetings and lectures as well. But I am glad I achieve more from it.

Being a treasurer is a lot of work to do. The president will be fixated on how to shift money from the account,while you'll be the one safe guarding the money.
School politics is something else more especially is your position it requires your time and honesty if this few steps you mentioned is followed our political system will be good. Corruption have spoil the school system
And I'm telling you, if you can tackle these things, it would be a smooth ride. Yes, politics is always viewed as a dirty game because the players are selfish. That narrative can change.

I've never been really involved in politics even when I've been an officer myself in school. I just do my job description and that's it. You're awesome being a treasurer and for being sober of what must be done in office you got.
