PAINTING PROJECT GONE AWRY
Painting has been what I have been passionate about since I was young, it is an admiration but I have never tried it out, most times I sketch in my book but it is nothing serious, I have never had the chance to go out and sit with people who do this as a profession, I always admire people who draw and paint and I love to do this.
I got an opportunity to go out with my friend last week to a painting gathering, this is organized to celebrate workers' day in my country and also the beginning of the month, I was so happy when he told me on the phone and all my thought was that I will have a better opportunity to try something out because it will be my first time of doing this.
We got to the venue and the tutor explained different types of painting which I recorded and how we can make our dream a reality through draw and painting, in this program I got to learn the different types of painting and the similarities and differences between painting and drawing.
We were introduced to the materials used for painting, the colors, different types of brushes, how to mix colors, the type of color to mix that will give you another color and so on, I was so excited and anxious to get something done as my first practice with the professional equipment, after the explanation we were divided into groups to be coordinated and everyone should at least do something for the day.
I thought we were just there to have fun and nothing serious but when I saw people holding their brushes and making perfect drawings and paintings I looked at my friend and had second thoughts because some drawings were so perfect and neat than I could imagine, people are talented when it comes to holding a pencil or playing around with colors at some point I gave myself a little hope at least if my work isn't perfect but it will have a meaning. I thought it was an easy task not knowing that I am yet to know why I was there.
It was my turn to sit and paint, meanwhile, it was a free painting we could paint anything that we liked, and we were not subjected to a particular picture, so this allowed everyone to bring out their phones and search for pictures to paint.
I thought I could paint through my imagination, I had the picture of Patrick in mind because I watched some reels on Instagram about SpongeBob SquarePants that afternoon so the picture was perfectly in my head for that moment.
I tried sketching it with my pencil before painting it, it looks similar but not perfectly like the way a professional painter will make this look adorable, I know most of us are familiar with this painting but you can tell it doesn't come out well the way it should be, I tried my best but I was not comfortable with the outcome, even though I tried my best.
After the painting I noticed where the shortcomings were, my lines weren't straight which I believe could be better than this, and then the painting wasn't that neat, I realized this was not my calling I had to leave it for the professionals.
If a professional could handle this drawing it would be more perfect than mine because this is their line and many of them studied this in the university which makes it easier for them when they handle their pencils and drawing board.
In my opinion, if I should need better pictures and paintings in my house I would rather leave it for the professionals to handle because they do it better than I do, though I had fun doing this but also laughed at myself for not getting it perfect, I think that is not my field it can never be 100% accurate but I think I tried.
NOTE: ALL THE PICTURES ARE MINE
This is my entry for day 7 of the #mayinleo prompt of the #inleo initiative, if you'd love to participate, you can read about it in the announcement post

@eunice9200 my friend, I have to kindly disagree with you. Ok, I can appreciate that as a profession of painting you might not be ready, and the people who have a better hand to put precisely what's in their mind to paper will win. I do appreciate high skill. But sister you managed to put out an image from your mind too. And just cause it is not professional at the moment does not make it any less of a painting!!! I mean do you say you cannot cool just cause you are not a chef :) I think you are being harsh on yourself just because others around you were already good. That's just a bias, cause only confident people attend such sessions anyways :)
My humble submission is please don't stop. Try out different themes, and different mediums. Looking at what you have painted I have a feeling that you will find some kind of painting very fulfilling!
Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife
Waooo this is one of the comments, thank you for the encouragement, I will keep on pushing until I am better, thank you so much I appreciate this comment
Lol.
As funny as it is, in the world of creativity every mistake is a design.
You will be shocked that someone could bid for your painting.
Since you gave it a try, your try became something.
Keep it up.

You actually left it to the professional not knowing that there's a professional inside of you. If you ask me, that was a nice try...if actually you have interest in painting, you can do well on this skill
I came in through #dreemport
I am really amazed with your painting skill ,it is awesome
