Package Disaster: What Came vs What's Supposed to Come

I have never been lucky with buying things online, my story with an online vendor made me promise never to patronize any vendor online again, it is better to go to the store and see what I want to purchase than to get it online.

Last year I was checking one of my social media accounts and I came across a lady advertising her products online, without wasting time I slid into her page to check things she had on the page, lo and behold I found so many things that captured my heart on her page.

This lady sells hair, I mean human hair and others, and this period I was preparing for my birthday so I decided to patronize her and get one hair for my birthday shoot, I sent a DM to her and immediately she responded, I was so happy because I want to get something for my birthday, we spoke at length and she sent me some videos of hair that I would love.

I settled for one and it was so gorgeous, I asked for her Payment method and she told me that I would pay in full before sending the hair down to my town, this lady is staying in Lagos and I am staying in Abuja, we did video call and I decided to send the money to her since I saw different reviews on her page about her been truthful, not knowing that I am getting to see the shock of my life.

I sent the money to her and also sent her my proof of payment, she acknowledged my payment and decided to waybill the hair the next day, I was happy meanwhile I told one of my friends about it and she didn't buy the idea, she had been scammed online several times and she had already made up her mind never to deal with any online vendors again.

My friend warned me not to get things online, she persuaded me to go to the store in the city to get what I wanted but I refused since I loved the one I saw online, so the vendor called me the next day that she had sent the hair and also forwarded the driver's number to me, you will never imagine how happy I was when she told me that.

I called the driver and he said he would call me as soon as he arrived in the city, the driver called me to come for my package when he arrived and I quickly rushed to the park, I got this package and headed home, I was so eager to see what I paid 70,000 naira for, I got home and I was distracted by my brother so I dropped my package in the room and went to bed that night without unboxing it.

The next day I decided to open it and check what was sent to me, then I found this sponge, I was shocked because I couldn't have paid heavily for this thing, I picked up my phone and called the vendor, but she didn't pick up my call at first but I kept on calling till she picked, I told her that there was a mixed up in what she sent to me and she mentioned that it is what I requested for she sent to me, I immediately snapped the hair and forwarded it to her on her WhatsApp page and she said that is it, that there was no mix-up, she blocked me immediately from her social media handle and it came as a shock to me.

I have been watching different experiences online but I do not believe it will reach my turn, I told my friend and she laughed at me for minutes before she could tell me sorry, the hair vendor ruined my photoshoot because I couldn't go for it anymore, since then I have never order anything online, even if it is a spoon I would rather go to the store to get it.

To the Online vendors, I believe you can always do better because integrity is the sole of any business, I was scammed and it pained me because I lost money that I would have used for other things.
