My Personal Tips for a Healthy, Germ-Free Life
Growing up, hygiene is one of the things our parents took serious especially my mother, I noticed how easily illnesses spread when people didn’t take care of their surroundings or themselves, most people are ignorant of this, they prefer to look good outside than to tidy up their spaces, staying clean is not just about looking good, it is about staying healthy, avoiding unnecessary sickness, and even feeling mentally better. Over the years, I have developed my own small habits and hacks to keep my environment and myself clean.
One of the things I learned from my mother and still helping me till date is washing my hands thoroughly, I remember during my secondary school days, we often shared books, food, and sometimes even water bottles. Before you touch anything in the house you must wash your hand with a soap and clean water, my mother believed that those were prime moments for germs to travel from one person to another. Now, one of the things that saved me from unnecessary illness is washing my hands frequently.
Another habit I stick to keeping my house clean all the time, I am a very organized person, I can never stand dust or a disorganized environment, These days, I spend a few minutes every morning sweeping, wiping surfaces, and putting things in their right places. I also have small trash bins in corners, so I don’t end up with garbage piling everywhere. For me, cleaning becomes much easier when my space is already organized.
When talking about hygiene food is very important, I can say it should come first because it is what we are digesting and it must be clean in other to avoid unnecessary illness, I always wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, I have a friend who always eat fruit purchase instantly, he doesn't care about washing it at all, this is very wrong, anything I'm putting in my mouth must be thoroughly clean and also cooking in a clean space matters just as much as washing your hands because germs can hide anywhere.
Thanks to COVID-19 that opened my eyes to the usefulness of disinfectant which is another hack I use to stay away from germs, during the weekend I use is disinfecting frequently touched surfaces like my door handles because anyone can open the door, my reading table even my charger because I used to borrow my neighbor. Carrying a small sanitizer has become part of my routine whenever I leave home it will surely be in my handbag.
Personal hygiene goes hand in hand with environmental cleanliness. If you do not take care of yourself then it will be difficult for you to take care of yourself environment, it is good to bathe daily and change your inner wear as a lady also I keep my nails trimmed.. Feeling clean makes me more comfortable around people and less worried about catching infections.
Honestly, keeping myself and my surroundings clean may seem like little things, but they’ve made my life healthier and more comfortable. Washing hands, cleaning surfaces, organizing my space these are small actions, yet they have a huge impact. If more people paid attention to hygiene and sanitation, I believe we could avoid so many preventable illnesses.

The importance of washing hands cannot be overemphasized. Thanks to Covid, most of us have gone back to washing our hands.
You're right, if we don't take good care of ourselves it will be difficult for us to care for ourselves. Although I don't do it frequently but I always wash my hands to avoid germs.
Your mom really taught you something golden. Washing of hands is something that has been saving us from so many illnesses even though we don’t even pay attention.
