Learning to Appreciate the Little Things
Gratitude is one of the lessons I learned from my mother, my mother will always appreciate any little thing you do for her to the extent that it can cause you embarrassment if care is not taken, my mother will greet and pray for any little thing which I believe it is normal to give my mother as a child but she made me realized that she shouldn't be entitled, that it is my choice to give and she must learn how to appreciate it.
Even the bible said let our praise be more than our request, praising God means we appreciate the one he did and also look forward to the ones he will do, not all the time we pray to receive from God, we must learn how to appreciate God and by doing that we are learning more and he can always bless without requesting from him.
I inculcated the habit of gratitude in my mother and she always does more for me, my mother always says that among my siblings I am the one who will always appreciate the little she does even though I will still ask for more, whenever my mother gives me something I will always pray for her from the depth of my heart because it wasn't easy to debit yourself just to credit another person, I would appreciate the little she does before complaining if eventually I am not satisfy with it.
I can never feel entitled to someone's property because only an ingrate will not appreciate the little thing being done for him or her, I always appreciate the little I have, and most especially appreciate God for the gift of love.
Being alive is never by our power or might, we must learn how to appreciate God for the gift of life and always separate some minutes out of our busy schedule to give thanks to him, by doing this we are learning more about appreciation.
Appreciation is a way of opening doors to the next level, even at work some bosses love people who always appreciate them, I can tell my friend's story she was promoted some months ago, and after the promotion one of her bosses called her, he told her that she got this promotion due to the way she always appreciate people at work, she will always say thank you to the boss after paying them salaries, this made the boss love her and when they got to the meeting and deliberating on whom to occupy the space, her name was mentioned not for anything but the way she always appreciate the boss after paying them salaries.
According to her, she doesn't merit the position at all but her way of life and how she always appreciates the little she has, was her open door to this position, now the company will send her abroad to learn more and when she is back she will be promoted, I picked another lesson from her story because when I was working for someone and if I received my salary I always feel it is my sweat and no need to appreciate my boss rather he is the one to appreciate me for my time. Since then I have been appreciating anyone who renders me services, even taking Uber from my house to anywhere, after paying I must say thank you also to any bike man who renders service for me.
We should always appreciate anyone who renders service to us, not only when we are giving something like money or the like before appreciating people, saying thank you can go a long way and can save us in so many awkward situations.
