I wish I could sue him for his unreasonable behavior

Our behaviors can never be the same in life, some people are born to provoke and frustrate innocent people thinking they are doing what the best, these set of people are just born with hostility and heartless.

A scenario happened to me when I was in school, I stayed in the school hostel in my first year and after the second-semester exams everyone was expected to move out of the hostel because of the new intake, the hostel was not that spacious so they always reserved it for the year one and final year students who wish to stay in the hostel.

During the second semester, I was looking for accommodation, I needed a better place to suit my taste so I started the search earlier, I did this so that I could choose the one that was good for me and never be rushed because the caretakers will double the price of the accommodation at the end of the semester since they know we are desperate for it.

I got this beautiful apartment and I never mind the price they called it because it has a very beautiful compound with people who are responsible and reasonable, all the tenants staying in this apartment are students and it is a room self-contain, in this house most of us do mind our business we only greet when we see each other and it is a very quiet environment, the house looks new to me because it was under renovation when I got the place and it makes a lot of sense to me.

Since I love the apartment, I asked why there was no tenant and why is it under renovation, the landlord told me that three of his tenants moved to their own house and I thought it was a good sign, it was a five-bedroom apartment and the remaining two tenants were transferred out of the state so they needed to pack out and move with their family, not knowing he was telling me a different story.

I paid for the accommodation and I signed some necessary agreements that involved his lawyer, I was happy because the house is so peaceful and other tenants are just introverts like me, the compound is always silent and it is a very source of good inspiration for learning, after two months we are gradually moving toward raining seasoning, I discovered that the area is waterlogged but when I asked the landlord he said there is nothing like that, he said water doesn't disturb me, I was skeptical about his reply but I just overlooked it.

After two months it began to rain but not that heavily, so we never knew what was coming for us, I went to the landlord's house to inquire about the environment again but this man kept telling me that everything was okay with the house and there is not like flood to disturb the area, house hunting makes me know the area because I stayed in the hostel in my year one so I wasn't conversant with the area.

The third month came and rain started heavily, I was in school that particular day and it rained heavily, after class I decided to take a bike to my apartment and relax for the day, I got to my rented apartment and saw other tenants ranting outside, the compound is flooded with water and there is no place to enter our rooms unless we enter the water, it wasn't funny at all and it was a day to my birthday, I entered my room and my mattress was soaked in water, later on we realized that the dam is opened so there is tendency for flood to happen, I cried my eyes out that day, I felt like killing the landlord.

Immediately I called my brother because one of his friends was a lawyer, I wanted to sue the man for lying because I later realized that all the tenants packed out because of a similar issue and this man repainted the house so that we wouldn't see any sign of flood in that house, where do I want to go to around that time, it was almost to six when I got back from school and realized the havoc, I was so devastated but brother told me to pick one or two things and leave the apartment, the birthday cloth that I planned to wear the following day was inside my wardrobe and I quickly rushed to pick it, the painful path was my laptop that was on my bed, the laptop got spoilt and I ask for a refund of my house rent.

The landlord switched off his phone and traveled with his family to another state pending the time the flood will be over, my brother was the one who doesn't allow me to do my worse that year because it i should sue him he will refund my money and also repair my laptop.

Some weeks later he called and pleaded for his bad behavior and I forgive him, because to err is human.
