From Tears to Cheers: My Sister's Journey to Motherhood
Happiness has no bounds, when things happen and it is of joy surely it will announce itself, it is never a thing that we can hide, sharing my happiest moment brings back good memories and at the same time some bad ones because I went through a lot before achieving the best.
One of the happiest moments that I would love to share with us is when my sister gave birth to her twin after eleven years of marriage, she had married for eleven years but had no sign of pregnancy, she had tried all she could from one hospital to another but all efforts were prove abortive.
In Africa people do not believe in adoption, they believe in having your child, this issue had started causing havoc in her family between her and the in-laws though the husband is very supportive and always defends her from the family, the family started bringing issues to the point that they are ready to bring another woman for their son.
When my sister called her mother and narrated everything that she was going through to her, I was shedding tears because I did not know how frustrated she would be in the house, she is my cousin but I do call her my sister because of our closeness and how she took me as her younger sister.
I always felt the pain in her voice anytime I called her because of the stress she had been facing from the other family, the doctor had been assuring them to calm down and said there was nothing wrong with the two couples.
Last year my sister called me and told me she had been feeling awkward lately, I told her to give herself peace of mind and persuaded her to go for a check-up, maybe her blood pressure was on the high side, but she yielded to my advice and called me some weeks after to give me joyful news that the doctor said she is pregnant.
As I heard the news I screamed and jumped up, everyone was looking at me as if I was mad but I know why I shouted, my reason is best known to me, I screamed like never before and she told me to keep it as a secret, she said she wanted to surprise her mum and other members of the family when she give birth.
Last week when I got a call from her husband that my sister gave birth to twins a boy and a girl, I screamed like as if I won the lottery, my joy knew no bounds, after eleven years of marriage, God finally blessed her with two bundles of joy, this is indeed a great testimony for the family, even the husband was just laughing on phone and praising God when he called me.
Truly children are gifts from God but why do some mother-in-law frustrate their daughter-in-law all in the name of having children, let's assume this my sister died of depression how will the husband handle it thank goodness she came out with laughter moment was a blessed one for me.
This is one of the happiest moments for me though it wasn't my story but rejoicing with my sister is also my happiness. The news has made everyone look happier than before even when the country is in crisis we are still rejoicing.

Ivan imagine the pressure she felt during those hard times that she can't get pregnant. And the inlaws didn't help because they add more to her stress in problem as if they are not trying to have a baby. But I'm happy for your cousin coz finally. And she even had twins omg, I'm sure their house is full of happiness right now. Congratulations to the couple 😊😊☺️✨
I am more than happy, thank you for your lovely comment

The pressure that is placed on the woman usually baffles me because it actually takes two to tango....if you know what I mean😄
Anyway, congratulations to your sister and to you for being an aunt. I trust you would be a good aunt.

One thing I am glad about is the fact that her husband was supporting her despite her in-laws wahala.
Congratulations to her, God has really blessed her and covered all the eleven years.
God is faithful and never forsakes his own. Congratulations to your sister and family.
