Choose Wisely: The Importance of Good Friends in Life
The type of friend you keep can either make you or mar you, we can never overemphasize the impression of good connection in our lives, being in the company of wrong friends can destroy your path in life.
If I have the opportunity to advise the coming generation, I will advise them to keep better friends, one good friend can open lots of opportunities for you which can liberate you financially in life.
Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are, this adage has been helping me a lot, I love to know more about a person before associating with them, and I love to watch closely so that people will not judge me through the friends I keep, having a good friend can be a good choice.
Having the right connection is what this generation lacks, we only connect to the set of people around us because people who are financially buoyant in society do not teach their children morals so this leads to segregation and bullying in our society.
The rich associate with each other leaving the poor to mingle with each other but when you make a good connection with people of high caliber then rest assured that your children will be free from oppression and bullying.
I have seen people who lift their friends from poverty, riches don't make a man but the set of people you have around you can tell more about you, always work to the extent that your friends do not need to ignore your calls when they see them, push yourself to be great and never be a slave to money.
Let me cite an example using Davido, a Nigeria musician, some years back he was about to celebrate his birthday and he decided to call all his friends and tell them to make donations for his birthday, all of them responded positively and donated the money for his birthday, he later offered the money to the less privileged, what I am trying to say is that it is better to have friends who can help you or people who you can confide in and are willing to render help to you.
Good friends are the ones who can back you up no matter the situation, not the ones you will only share glasses of alcohol with, some friends are bad influence, and getting it wrong can mislead your steps in life.
Having the right connection will be my advice to the next generation, connection is the key to every open door in this generation, though prayer works but God will use someone to answer your prayer, having the right friends who are not selfish and can carry you along with every opportunity is better than silver and gold in this generation. Choose wisely when it comes to the issue of friends.
I'm sure with this advice they can move on with their lives, A word is enough for the wise.
