AN INVESTMENT IN KNOWLEDGE PAYS THE BEST INTEREST

I believe that education should be more valuable than politics, but the reverse is the case in my country, our government makes education seem so uninteresting to us, and they never show respect for all the work and hardships we endured in school.

According to my mother, during their time, once you graduate from college, you can start working, even the government will beg you to work for them. But in today's world, education is no longer the key to success in my country instead, the only key to success is now connections, it all depends on who you know who can secure a better position for you.

To the question of the day, I have two certificates, I acquired my Ordinary National Diploma (OND) at the polytechnic before writing another exam to proceed to the university, where I had my bachelor's degree after five years and then served my country before engaging myself in my skill and that was where I stopped.

I was chatting with my brother some days ago and he was telling me to go for my Master's degree this year, I have that in plan but this country is in mess, I know people with master's degrees who are riding motorcycles in the country, with not just ordinary grade but better ones at that, everything has turned to the other side in my country.

I remembered the slang we used to say when we were about to graduate from school that even if we see a newspaper we will never touch it, not to talk of reading it, that was one of our quotes in school then, this wasn't our fault because those lecturers frustrated the living being out of us, they made school to be hell, some lecturers or staffs can never sign a document for you at a go, you have to come back multiples time and they will be in their office but to hold pen will always be a challenge for them.

Well I wish to further my education and I am currently working on that, I wish to travel out of my country to acquire more knowledge in PROGRAMMING, and I believe doing this out of my country will be an advantage for me, I love programming and data analysis, I wish to learn more on that, I have a friend who was putting me through on data analysis some years back but he was transferred out of my state so our communication is not as fluent as before.

Getting an opportunity to do this outside my country is what I would love most, I believe other countries value education more and more and there will be enough facilities to learn with, there will be no delay in graduating and also there will not be any form of discouragement like strikes or whatsoever which could make me exceeded the year I planned for.

Also, learning more about programming especially CODING, will be valuable to me, most companies need someone who can do that for them and the skill is needed in every organization, I will choose to do this in other countries and come back to my country to work with it, then I will be a hot cake in my country.

This is my entry for this week's episode of the hivelearners community prompt of #hl-w98e3 which is tagged "HIGHER EDUCATION"

Learning never ends, this is my belief, even with a Ph.D. one still needs to keep reading and learning. It never stops

Programming and Coding both are my favorite subjects. It is bad to know that politics is more valuable than education in your country, we should prioritize education if we want to make progress. I can hope, for many good things In Nigeria and good wishes for you, have a good luck mate.

That's Nigeria for you, many graduate are suffering and it's as if not even going to school is better because most undergraduates are doing better. I hope you achieve your dreams soon ✌️

I had a passion for programming until I got into polytechnic and the lecturer taking the course knew nothing about programming, I was discouraged and with all the stress I passed through while using my ND to look for a job I gave up and then started my business, now am glad at what I do.

Sometimes I always think that if I was still in school I would be thinking of getting an office job which I might not get at the end of everything.
