Hoy quería recomendarles estos libros del género fantasía/aventura de Isabel Allende que ella escribió para adolescentes. Son muy lindos y exploran temas como la amistad, la honestidad, la naturaleza, etc.

La trama sigue la historia de un joven de 15 años, Alexander Cold, que viaja con su abuela Kate al Amazonas, se pierde en las profundidades de la selva donde el límite entre la realidad y la fantasía es bastante confuso.

Me pareció un libro de aventuras muy bueno, donde el realismo mágico de la autora está en cada página. Tiene un ritmo de lectura rápido y giros irónicos, además de un sutil humor que divierte. Contiene un choque cultural evidente entre dos civilizaciones que se transforma en crítica, por un lado están las tribus indígenas y por el otro el conquistador blanco que quiere desplazarlos para tomar su territorio. Es un viaje sin pausa sobre un territorio misterioso que te atrapará desde el inicio.
I found it a very good adventure book, where the author's magical realism is on every page. It has a fast reading pace and ironic twists and turns, plus a subtle humor that amuses. It contains an evident cultural clash between two civilizations that becomes critical, on one side are the indigenous tribes and on the other the white conqueror who wants to displace them to take their territory. It is a journey without pause on a mysterious territory that will catch you from the beginning.

Este es el segundo libro de la trilogía, donde te encontrarás con varios personajes de La ciudad de las bestias. En este libro la trama sigue la historia de Alexander Cold y su amiga Nadia Santos, que acompañan en un nuevo viaje a su abuela Kate Cold, esta vez al Himalaya. La escritora y los adolescentes viajan junto a fotógrafos del International Geographic, la tarea del equipo consiste en localizar al legendario Dragón de Oro, una estatua sagrada y un oráculo invaluable que puede predecir el futuro del reino.

Aquí el realismo mágico se hace patente, característico de la autora. Otro libro atrapante y, de toda la trilogía, el que más me gustó.

La trama sigue a Nadia, Alexander Cold y su abuela Kate Cold, que ahora viajan a África para disfrutar del primer safari en elefante. Kenia es una fiesta de color: una mezcla de sabores, olores y sonidos inunda cada rincón de esta tierra. Sin embargo, el paraíso también esconde sombras. Y la primera señal llegará con las enigmáticas palabras de una sacerdotisa vudú: les espera una durísima prueba, la que les enfrentará al temible monstruo de tres cabezas. Después de esto las cosas se complican.
