A few weeks ago, my friend, Dave, a tech guru, whom we presumed to be basking in good health superficially, was hospitalized for a stress-triggered ulcer. What? This was traced to his over-dependent on instant noodles (indomie) against well-prepared meals, and his working for 18 hours daily without rest. I believe most of us are familiar with this. These modern foods and lifestyles (soft life) are giving birth to a variance of diseases, as well as exacerbating existing ones. Such diseases include obesity, diabetes, hypertension, kidney and liver disease, gastric ulcer, indigestion, bloating, headache, constipation Source, etc. You can easily get burnout before attending 40 years of age WHO. They further opine that about 56% of adults worldwide who used to think they were living soft life are battling diseases associated with this lifestyle. All I am saying to you is to pay attention to your body distress signal (SOS), as the purported soft life is not soft at all. It baffling why you would treat your body like an overloaded Lagos molue bus, devoid of maintenance.
Some imperceptible habits causing these modern epidemic
One such habit is the avalanche of remote work. Remote work plus careless eating without working out, has increased the rate of obesity. Screen sickness or screen slavery (in Gen Z parlance) is another habit we must extricate. Blue light is capable of causing insomnia and depression which agbo cannot fix. So, we must, as a matter of necessity, limit our screen time. Lastly, do not neglect well-prepared nutritional meals. We must limit the rate of processed food we consume daily.
How to reclaim your health without the need for gym
You can reclaim your health by Subscribing to micro-movement. By this I mean you should stretch during breaks, and even leap when calling Auntie Nko to wait for you. Furthermore, do not charge your phone in the room you are sleeping, as you also require dark mode. Try as much as you can to eat a nutritional meal daily.
