Music and humans.
Greetings guys. Welcome to my blog. Hoe are y'all doing??. Today I'll be writing on music and it's everyday involvement in our lives as humans.
Music can be regarded as one of the most ancient and universal forms of culture, which influenced and mirrored people’s feelings, relations, and personality. As such, it cannot be seen as just an entertainment function, as it plays a major part in the way human beings think, feel, and interact.
In the past, music has been an essential commodity used in most occasions, including rites of passages, feasts, and festivals among the various nations across the globe. Music in ancient societies was more or less connected to religious ceremonies they used it to pray to the gods, celebrate the yielding of the crops or milestones in one’s life. Music was in one way or another with African tribal dances and the highly developed medieval European compositions.
On the cognitive level, the effects of music are chief on the brain. Research has revealed that any participation in music, as either an active or passive listener, activates several zones in the brain which controls feeling, recollection and motor abilities. The effect that music has on our feelings is indisputable; when a tune, a beat or a rhythm is played we either feel happy, sad, nostalgic or even high. This emotional reaction also has to do with the neurochemistry of music, the way it engages the brain reward system, the release of such neurochemicals as dopamine, which is linked with pleasure and reinforcement.
In addition, people use music in their development and when teaching other individuals as well. Toddlers music exposure can be beneficial for language and speech development, help develop skills and also academic achievement. It has been demonstrated that musical education can enhance memory, concentration and even analytical thinking, which means that music not only is a source of entertainment.
As time passed, culture of listening and making music changed and as a result, music has continued to transform in today’s society. Thus, I will say that the democratization of music has enriched the music culture and made new kinds of musical ideas get on the stage.
We can say that music is a versatile phenomenon in the life of people that has great importance in various spheres and levels of individual’s and society’s development. It has been human’s best friend throughout history, in the past as well as at present and will continue to play a role in shaping the future. Regardless of whether it serves as an effective tool for eliciting emotions, improving brain functions, developing relationships or as a therapeutic agent music still carries a vital and positive influence in our existence.
Stay blessed 🙏.
