Anger management as a skill.
Greetings guys. Good morning and welcome to my blog. Today I will be writing on anger issues. It's my first time posting on this platform. Hope I am welcome.
Everyone know the feeling or sensation known as anger. It is a human nature to respond that way when they feel that their lives are in danger or when some injustice is done to them. However, people can approach the feeling in very different ways and expressing anger is quite different from the feeling of it.
Some individuals may observe that they are easily angered more often than others in comparison to others, while in other instances this will be the complete opposite. Even if one is a ‘chronic’ anger and irritation experiencer, it is possible to learn how to cope with it to improve one’s relationship with the others and personal well-being. I easily get angry doubled with the fact that I am a stammerer. I tend to control myself when I'm angry. I know my kind of person so I have learnt, the hard way though.
It is therefore vital that whenever you are angry, you have to know how you behave. Some may become aggressive that they potentially lose control while some finds ways on how to effectively respond. Here are a few tips for those struggling with anger issues:
Pause and Breathe: Take 2-3 minutes before expressing yourself. This assists in minimizing on emotions that lead to hasty decision making.
Identify Triggers: Being aware of what makes you angry will assist you in dealing with what caused it and therefore come up with better ways of handling it.
Express Yourself Calmly: Try to explain your emotions clearly and especially in a normal and controlled tone. Also avoid blaming others while expressing how you feel, use “I” statements.
Take a Timeout: Sometimes you find that you are overwhelmed with emotions and the best thing is to remove yourself from the situation. It will allow walking for a few minutes away from the situation so as to be able to compose yourself and think better.
Seek Solutions: Do not repeatedly mention the problem but try to have the appropriate way of solving issues that make you angry.
Seek Professional Help: If this continues to be a problem, it may be time to consult a health care provider. They may provide you with counseling that will suit your needs.
Finally, learning the triggers and techniques to control anger can guide you avoid many situations that cause anger or help you to deal with it in a healthy manner for better interpersonal relation.
Stay blessed 🙏
