So the big question is are the Nigerian consumers able to afford these rising prices that is making it very hard for an average Nigerian to survive. The so called ‘cost of living’ has gone high and many families cannot even afford a square meal or fare to work. Food price inflation appears to be the most alarming of recent- rice, beans, onions are almost unaffordable this are food stuffs which are being produced in the country and yet an an average citizen can't afford it.
It reveals itself in just about every aspect of everyday life, from the monthly rent to foreign products brought into the country. More and more people from Nigeria are cutting the cloth accordingly and finding it necessary to deliberately make difficult decisions where to Drew their funds. Large purchases are no longer being made, savings are disappearing as are dreams because of reality of the effects of inflation.
However, even in the middle of all this mess, one gets the glimmer of hope. Yes, it is high time that we opened our eyes and started trying to figure out how to live and go on through such periods. In other words, being good savers and making the right choices regarding money can help one overcome the effects of financial turmoil.
When faced with such economic problems, one can be left feeling so helpless because it at a personal level one cannot do anything but it’s important to know that we are not alone. This way, those struggling financially would be able to share with the rest of the community and find a way of coming out of the challenges that inflation brings. We as people should ensure that we remain informed and educated on the state of the economy so that we are in a position to guard against any impacts of inflation.
Therefore, it depends on
each and every one of us to take their financial destiny of his and her families into his and her own hands and fashion better lives. We may experience the worst in the years to come but no problem is everlasting, with strong will power, hard-working and oneness we can combat the aspect of inflation and pave way for a brighter future for every citizen of this country Nigeria.
But then let us as a nation support one another and wage a common battle against the odds as represented by inflation. For this reason, cooperation and endurance in the time of difficulties are the main components that lead to the creation of a better future for each one of us and our country.
