Choose the Right Bike

Before you start your cycling journey, you have to choose the right bike that suits your desire and needs. You have to either visit the local market, shopping mall, or you can do a research online and choose what your preference is then visit the market. Whether it is a road bike you're buying, a mountain bike hybrid bike or just something for cruising. You have to be sure that you are comfortable with the choice you're making that is very important.

Wear Proper Safety Gear

There is this common saying that safety first, because our safety should be a major priority in whatever we are doing, that includes cycling. Buy a good-quality helmet that best fits your snugly and gives you adequate protection for your head. Another is your wear, make them simple, bright colors that will be visible and reflective when approaching or been approached by motorists and other cyclists, especially when riding in a low-light environment.

Start Slow and Easy

As a newbie you have it's best you start riding slow and steadily you can build capacity and confidence. The best place to start is on a flat, smooth parth or a path that is quiet and doesn't have many people passing by. As you grow and build capacity and become more comfortable with the bike you can then increase the distance, speed and perhaps more challenging terrain.

Obey Traffic Laws and Road Safety Rules

For the fact that you're riding a bike doesn't mean you shouldn't obey traffic rules especially when riding on a public road. Always ride in the direction of the traffic, obey the traffic signals, you want to stop or turn. You can simply use your hand to indicate so that the next bike or motorcycle following you will understand and won't have to run into you. Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings at all times.

Stay Hydrated and Fuelled

As you all know that when you're riding a bike, it requires energy to pedal that means it is physically demanding, so it is important and advisable to always stay hydrated when riding. Bring a water bottle alongside with you, you can also bring snacks to replenish your lost energy and prevent you from being dehydrated. Take regular breaks to rest and refuel, especially on longer rides.

Ride with Confidence and Enjoy the Experience:

Finally, always keep your mind fixed, have a positive mindset, relax, don't be scared, believe in yourself that you can remember to ride with confidence, boldness and enjoy the experience.
