My Culture My Heritage

Good day my good people in the hiveghana community,it gladden my heart to be here on the #hive platform.
To day I want to write on the topic "My culture ,My Heritage ".
We no what culture is all about but I will write on my own culture to be precise Akwa Ibom State Nigeria, and also we know that heritage is all about but I will write on my heritage.

Let me to my own perspective give few lines of meaning about these two words culture and heritage. Cultural is the way of life of the people in a particular area or community, like in Africa we have Africa culture whereas Heritage is what is pass down from our previous generation or ancient generations fo the present one.

In my state Akwa Ibom State Nigeria, these two masquerade are really our culture which it's normal play in ceremonials occasions to entertain people and create funs,the two masquerade are Ekpe and Ekp masquerade both are used to make people feel good during ceremonies like carnivals,so in my place Ekpo and Ekpe Masquerade are so ceremonial mostly during festivals or carnival,so this was the way of life of the people by then.

As it is the heritage of my place ,it means the culture that our forefathers passed down to our present generation,it is because of the purpose it's plays in the security of the village,it was used to protect sterling and unacceptable activities in the community,so since it was used by our forefathers,the tendency to use it continue in our present generation.

Unlike the every other country in Africa which they have their own way of life like Ghana South Africa,we the people of Akwa Ibom State Nigeria do the same and we always celebrate and have time for this masquerade . It is used to protect properties in the community, stealing of people properties was protected by Ekpo masquerade,it was the simple way of policing the area against stealing. The same thing was that of Ekpe Masquerade which our forefathers where use to hind the secret of the community against the youth so that things in the palace is protected

So to me I really like the culture and heritage of of my community, country and Africa at large,so let's develop our culture,we should not allow the heritage of our culture to die Let do it,let develop Africa Culture.
