📸 Hello to the entire community. This is my entry for the Show Me A Photo Contest Round 236. In the photo, you can see a Cuban pigeon; they are medium-sized birds and are common in urban spaces like the one where I captured this shot.
Since the theme of the contest is free, I decided to participate with this image. That day, I went to visit my cousin at her job in the hospital, and right across the street is a monument where pigeons often hang out. I was lucky enough to come across three of them: two were huddled together as if sleeping, while the third one (the one in the photo) was hungry and looking for food.
It was quite funny trying to get this portrait because as soon as she saw me, she would fly away. It felt like I was playing hide and seek, as I spent a long time behind a wall, waiting for her to return from the tree where she was hiding so I could take this photograph.
I love the sounds they make to communicate when they are free, especially the "coo coo coo" or something like that 😁. In captivity, their sounds are different and less interesting.
I hope that those who are passionate about photography and nature, like me, will also enjoy this photo.

📸Hola a toda la comunidad. Esta es mi participación en el Show Me A Photo Contest Round 236. En la foto pueden ver una paloma cubana, son aves de tamaño mediano y son usuales en espacios urbanos, como este, donde la retraté.
Como el tema del concurso es libre, he decidido participar con esta imagen. Ese día había ido a visitar a mi prima en su trabajo en el hospital, y justo enfrente hay un monumento donde las palomas suelen pasar el rato. Tuve la suerte de encontrarme a tres de ellas: dos estaban acurrucadas como durmiendo, mientras que la tercera (la de la foto) tenía hambre y buscaba comida.
Fue muy gracioso lograr este retrato, porque inmediatamente que ella me veía se iba volando. Me parece que estuve jugando a las escondidas, pues me mantuve mucho rato detrás de un muro, esperando a que volviera del árbol donde se escondía y poder tomar esta fotografía.
A mí me gustan los sonidos que ellas hacen para comunicarse cuando están en libertad, especialmente el "coo coo coo" o algo así 😁. En cautiverio, sus sonidos son diferentes y poco interesantes.
Espero que a las personas apasionadas por la fotografía y la naturaleza, como yo, también les guste esta foto.
