I was in the park in Guanabacoa, as usual, practicing street photography. There was a group of kids dancing and taking selfies. Suddenly, I heard a girl shout: "Photos for Facebook". I looked at her smiling, as I knew she was yelling at me. She was perched on the wall protecting the Catholic church in Guanabacoa, along with some of her friends. These are rebellious children of the municipality, the reason why adults always say: "Youth is lost", but if you read classic books you will realize that no matter what young people do, the older ones will always say that youth is lost in every age, it has always been like that and it will always be like that. It's not right what they do, of course, and the authorities in the municipality constantly scold them or tell their parents what they do.

I asked the girl who had yelled at me if she wanted me to take her picture and she came down from the wall immediately. She started posing and encouraging others of her friends to take pictures with me, and there was a moment when I had all these rebels around me, in a circle, looking at the pictures I had taken and asking me how it was done.

Rebellious children, they are not so rebellious when adults pay attention to them and teach them something that entertains them or is interesting.

Le pregunté a la niña que me había gritado si quería que le tomara una foto y bajó del muro inmediatamente. Comenzó a posar y a animar a otros de sus amigos a que se hicieran fotos conmigo, y hubo un momento en que tenía a todos esos rebeldes a mi alrededor, en círculo, viendo las fotos que había tomado y preguntándome cómo se hacía.

Los niños rebeldes, no son tan rebeldes cuando los adultos les prestan atención y les enseñan algo que les entretiene o resulta interesante.
