It has been quite a long time since I have posted here, but I never left this blockchain. I've been in the shadows just consuming (actually reading posts). I realised that I didn't have enough time to read posts here when I was actively posting here. I must say it's been quite impressive and there have been a lot of changes here. So without wasting more time let's dive into what this post is about and probably in my subsequent post I could talk about my adventures.

Last year when I saw the trailer of this movie, I became super excited to see this movie. I mean it's been 10 years without Cameron Diaz and giving us a combo of Fox and Diaz was unexpected. So a month ago, I had some time, so I saw some movies. This movie, I tag it as a simple family fun spy movie. It is a movie you can watch with the family over the weekend to relax and get entertained.

There was nothing new about this movie except for the casting. I would advise that you don't have high performance expectations for this movie. It is a movie that revolves around plots we have seen many times been recycled in Hollywood. Now that Hollywood is not really interesting as it use to be before and I think they have seemed to run out of genuine scriptwriters, I will say this movie was quite enjoyable on the average.

”Back In Action (2025)” is an American comedy action movie that was directed and written by Seth Gordon. The script of this movie was co-written with Brendan O'Brien. It starred Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, Kyle Chandler and Glenn Close. It was distributed by Netflix.

About The Plot.

The movie started with a scene of two CIA operatives Matt and Emily (Jaime and Cameron) about to attend an eight year old birthday party of a former Polish KG agent, Mr Gor. This was not an outing for them but a secret mission. This mission was to secure a device that can control any electronic system called ICS with the support of their superior and their friend, Chuck. Before they left for the event, Emily discovered she was pregnant but couldn't tell Matt.

Not long after, things didn't go well as they planned, their cover was blown and everything became chaotic. They were able to steal the device after literally thrashing the event and escaping. Later on, they were on a flight back home. Opportunity presented itself for Emily to tell Matt that he was going to be a father. Matt assured Emily he was ready to be a father.

As they both were getting used to the fact that they would soon be parents, the flight crew ambushed them, tried to kill them and steal the ICS device from them. These flight crew were also on Mr Gor payroll. After all the struggle, Matt and Emily decided to go off the grid and start their lives afresh. The question now is will their past life come back for them when all will seem to be going well? What happens then?

My Review And Rating.

I feel like from the title of the movie and the trailer (if you are opportuned to watch it), you should already know the experience you are getting. For me, I knew that it was a movie with a script I have seen a dozen times but what made me a little enthusiastic about this movie was the fact that it has been quite a long decade that I have seen Cameron Diaz on screen. Then the fact that she was paired with Jamie Fox! I didn't want to pass on this movie.

My experience was on the average for this movie. It wasn't bad, neither was it impressive. As I watched the movie I was able to predict what happened next, some scenes seemed familiar to me. There was no suspense, it wasn't that intriguing and the twist to the plot of the movie wasn't a twist since it was just obvious to decode.

I enjoyed the action and fighting scenes. They were all shot well and those are the parts I enjoyed in the movie. Cameron was restricted in this movie. She wasn't herself, she wasn't able to bring her charismatic self into the plot. She didn't really have chemistry with Jaime. In the movie there were a couple but the chemistry was there. It was like they were working colleagues trying to take care of some kids in their custody. Jamie seems to be walking in egg shells around Diaz. I thought they would be a good duo, but I was wrong.

The plot was well written, especially the action scenes, but the dialogue was corny and lacked substance. The cast were fantastic except that the plot kind of restrained them from really showcasing their talents. The cinematography was great and well done. The movie was fun to watch and if you were like me who had high expectations for this movie you might be disappointed, but I am not because it's average for me. Also considering from the start of this year, spy/espionage films have not really been impressive, but for me, Argylle and this movie did it for me. Let's not forget how Black Canary disappointed us.

Rating this movie, I will give it 6 out of 10 stars. It was a fun watch for me. I had some moments of laughter and it was an interesting experience. If you and your family want to have fun and laugh while watching a decent spy comedy movie, then I recommend this movie for you. From beginning to end, it was decent.
