¡Hola Chicos!
Se acercaba nuestra galería de arte, la última que haríamos este año y yo quería hacer un detalle especial para obsequiar mis alumnos. Me encanta hacer cositas tejidas porque uno invierte poco material y puede lograr cosas geniales. Particularmente me encanta regalar cosas hechas por mi y esta vez no iba a ser la excepción.
Vi muchas ideas geniales pero la que más resonó conmigo fue la de hacerles unos colgantes para sus bolsos, que eran unas paletas de pintura. Tenía todo lo necesario así que no lo pensé más y comencé a tejer una de prueba a ver que tal me iba.
El resultado me encantó así que ya era definitivo que este sería su regalo. Inicié labores con bastantes días de anticipación ya que en ocasiones anteriores que había hecho cositas similares lo dejaba para último momento y trabajar bajo presión es terrible.
En un principio pensé en hacer algo diferente para las alumnas de los otros cursos pero me decidí a último momento hacer lo mismo para todos, pues la paleta representa el arte en todas sus expresiones a mi parecer.
Este no es un post tutorial, más bien es contando mi experiencia haciendo estos lindos detallitos.

Our art gallery was coming up, the last one we'd do this year, and I wanted to make a special gift for my students. I love making knitted things because you don't need many materials and you can create amazing things. I especially love giving handmade gifts, and this time was no exception.
I saw many great ideas, but the one that resonated with me the most was making them bag charms shaped like paint palettes. I had everything I needed, so I didn't hesitate and started knitting a test one to see how it would go.
I loved the result, so it was clear that this would be their gift. I started working on it several days in advance because on previous occasions when I'd made similar things, I'd left it until the last minute, and working under pressure is terrible.
At first, I thought about doing something different for the students in the other classes, but at the last minute I decided to do the same thing for everyone, since the palette represents art in all its expressions, in my opinion.
This isn't a tutorial post; rather, it's about sharing my experience making these lovely little details.
Ok, para este punto había hecho la primera paleta y le había puesto las bolitas tejidas de colores para simular la pintura. En el tutorial que había visto las hacían de una forma diferente y a mi parecer muy complicada para la cantidad que debía hacer, así que decidí hacer bolitas individuales y pegarlas con silicón.
Pero antes de hacer las casi 80 bolitas pequeñas, me fui por partes. Yo tengo un mal y es que me da mucho fastidio hacer algo repetidas veces, el hacer más de 15 paletitas se escucha fácil, pero no lo es tanto por lo tediosa de la tarea.
Me obligué a ir tejiendo paso a paso de todas las paletas, pues sabía que si no lo hacía así buscaría en mi mente la excusa para reducir la cantidad o abandonar el proyecto.
Okay, by this point I had made the first lollipop and added the colorful knitted balls to simulate paint. In the tutorial I had watched, they made them differently, and it seemed too complicated for the quantity I needed to make, so I decided to make individual balls and glue them on with hot glue.
But before making the nearly 80 small balls, I tackled it in stages. I have a problem: I find it very tedious to do things repeatedly. Making more than 15 lollipops sounds easy, but it's not because of how tedious the task is.
I forced myself to knit each lollipop step by step, because I knew that if I didn't, I would find an excuse to reduce the quantity or abandon the project.
Una vez terminadas las paletas me ocupé de las bolitas de pintura que es otro trabajo que parecía interminable. Luego de hacerlas corté todos los sobrantes de hilo y los pegué a las paletas. Para este punto me estaba cuestionando ya si hacer los minipinceles o no jajaja
Once the palettes were finished, I tackled the paint balls, another seemingly endless task. After making them, I cut off all the excess yarn and glued them to the palettes. By this point, I was already debating whether or not to make the mini paintbrushes, haha.
Hice uno de prueba que no quedó tan bien y lo dejé así hasta el siguiente día. Los hilos que había usado eran muy gruesos, así que al día siguiente volví a buscar y encontré unos que lucían mejor.
Estos pincelitos me dieron la batalla de la vida pues era forrar los palitos de madera, luego pegar uno a uno los pelitos y luego colocar la parte gris.
Lo hice mientras veía una película para no estresarme y funcionó. Terminé con ese gran grupo de pincelitos con éxito. De ahí los pegué entonces en cada una de las paletitas. Se veían hermosas ♥
I made a test one that didn't turn out so well, so I left it until the next day. The yarn I had used was too thick, so the next day I went back and found some that looked better.
These little paintbrushes were a real challenge. I had to cover the wooden sticks, then glue on the bristles one by one, and finally attach the gray part.
I did it while watching a movie to avoid stressing out, and it worked. I successfully finished that large group of paintbrushes. Then I glued them onto each of the lollipops. They looked beautiful ♥
´La idea original sugería un llavero, pero no tenía los suficiente así que opté por tejerles una cuerdita del mismo color de la paleta y lucían espectacular.
Debido al cansancio había olvidado por completo que debía tomarles una foto grupal y ya había empacado algunas. Esto lo hice cuando llegué el día del intercambio y estaba preparando todo para el día siguiente, que sería la galería.
Así que armé una idea en mi mente de como podía tomarle una foto para mostrar luego en mis redes y así quedó. La de la izquierda es una foto que tomó el teléfono en automático miestras me acomodaba algunas paletas en las manos jajaja.
The original idea was to make keychains, but I didn't have enough, so I opted to weave a little string for them in the same color as the lollipops, and they looked spectacular.
Because I was so tired, I had completely forgotten that I was supposed to take a group photo, and I had already packed some. I did this when I arrived on the day of the exchange and was preparing everything for the next day, which would be the gallery.
So I came up with an idea in my mind of how I could take a photo to show later on my social media, and this is how it turned out. The one on the left is a photo my phone took automatically while I was arranging some lollipops in my hands, haha.
Tome otras de solo las paletas pero debido al desastre no me encantaron, igual las conservé para compartir con ustedes.
Luego de eso lo empaqué todo en una bolsita, los certificados, las paletitas y unos dulcitos. Estábamos listos para la galería.
Me encantó como me quedaron y estaba bien ansiosa por que mis alumnos los vieran, espero las disfruten tanto como yo cuando las hice, aunque fueron un leve factor de estrés, amé hacerlas ♥
I took some more pictures of just the lollipops, but because of the mess, I wasn't thrilled with them. I kept them anyway to share with you.
After that, I packed everything in a little bag: the certificates, the lollipops, and some candy. We were ready for the gallery.
I loved how they turned out, and I was so excited for my students to see them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I made them. Even though they were a little stressful, I loved making them ♥
