Haciendo lámina para una exposición en familia || Making banner for a family exhibition ♥
¡Hola Chicos!
Hace dos semanas le asignaron a mi hijo una exposición sobre los medios de comunicación y su relación con el arte. Debía trabajar en grupo y entre ellos se organizaron para trabajar en la casa de uno de sus compañeros.
El día que se reunieron no pudieron hacer la lámina, y le dije a mi hijo que la trajera para la casa para que la hiciéramos juntos. Yo he estado algo ocupada, pues he tenido mis días llenos de trabajo, pero como pude me organicé para ayudarlo a estructurarla y ya luego mi esposo lo ayudó a completar.
Entonces terminó siendo un trabajo que hicimos en familia y eso a mi hijo le gustó mucho, pues a pesar de que compartimos a diario, comemos juntos y vemos una serie en familia, sé que estos momentos adicionales lo hacen muy feliz.

Two weeks ago my son was assigned an exhibit about the media and its relationship to art. He was to work in a group and between them they arranged to work at the home of one of his classmates.
The day they got together they couldn't make the poster, and I told my son to bring it home so we could make it together. I have been a little busy, because I have had my days full of work, but as I could I organized myself to help him structure it and then my husband helped him to complete it.
So it ended up being a job that we did as a family and my son liked it very much, because even though we share daily, we eat together and watch a series as a family, I know that these additional moments make him very happy.
La lámina que usamos era extremadamente grande, bueno al menos para lo que solemos usar para sus exposiciones.
No me convencía hacerlo de este tamaño, pero como es lo que han venido trabajando sus amigos y él hasta ahora, no quise romper esos patrones.
Tracé las líneas de base y luego ubiqué las letras del título en el centro.
Luego comencé a aplicar marcador para remarcarlas, en este punto me di cuenta que se estaba secando, así que me tocó hacerlas como pude y decidí que luego de pintarlas las iba a delinear con pintura y un pincel.
The sheet we used was extremely large, well at least for what we usually use for his exhibitions.
I wasn't convinced to make it this size, but since this is what he and his friends have been working with so far, I didn't want to break those patterns.
I traced the baselines and then placed the title letters in the center.
Then I started to apply marker to highlight them, at this point I realized that it was drying, so I had to make them as I could and decided that after painting them I was going to outline them with paint and a brush.
Luego entre mi hijo y yo estuvimos pintando esas letras en color azul y verde (elección de él), yo lo acompañé por un ratito y luego lo dejé pintando solito porque debía ocuparme en otra cosa.
Así fuimos trabajando, en lo que tenía ratos libres iba, le ayudaba un poco y luego él seguía trabajando.
Then my son and I painted those letters in blue and green (his choice), I accompanied him for a while and then I left him painting alone because I had to do something else.
That's how we worked, when I had free time I would go and help him a little and then he would continue working.
Ese tiempo que estuvimos pintando juntos mi hijo me dijo "me gusta compartir tiempo contigo, teníamos tiempo sin hacer algo juntos".
Eso me arrugó el corazoncito pues tengo semanas trabajando full y sin descanso, y eso ha ocasionado que no esté haciendo tantas cosas con él, a pesar de que convivamos todos los días, y demos paseos en bici casi a diario, a él le ha pegado el tiempo que no he estado en casa, pues siempre somos los 3 para todo, pero con el trabajo que tengo actualmente, me ha tocado salir seguido y estar hasta 7 horas fuera de casa.
Estoy en la búsqueda de una organización ideal para poder dedicarle más y que no sienta tanto esa ausencia.
That time we were painting together my son told me “I like to share time with you, we had some time without doing something together”.
That wrinkled my heart because I have weeks working full and without rest, and that has caused that I am not doing so many things with him, even though we live together every day, and we take bike rides almost daily, he has been hit by the time I have not been at home, because we are always the 3 for everything, but with the work I have now, I have had to go out often and be up to 7 hours away from home.
I am looking for an ideal organization to be able to dedicate more time to him so he doesn't feel that absence so much.
Al rato llegué para ayudarlo a pintar los elementos resaltantes de la lámina. Como su exposición era de los medios de comunicación había que hablar de la radio, cine, periódico, televisión, internet y fotografía.
Busqué referencias en Google y de ahí hice unos bocetos súper sencillos que luego fuimos pintando poco a poco.
After a while I arrived to help him paint the highlights of the poster. As his exhibition was about the media, we had to talk about radio, cinema, newspaper, television, internet and photography.
I looked for references on Google and from there I made some super simple sketches that we then painted little by little.
Al terminar le hice las letras de base para los títulos y luego mi esposo me reemplazó en el trabajo. Terminó siendo un momento padre e hijo bien bonito y diferente y la felicidad se notaba en el rostro de mi hijo. ♥
When I finished, I made the base letters for the titles and then my husband replaced me at work. It ended up being a very nice and different father and son moment and the happiness could be seen on my son's face. ♥
Finalmente me dediqué a delinear todas las letras, de esto no tengo fotos porque lo hice en horas de madrugada, con bastante sueño y ojeras, pero logramos en equipo sacar adelante esta lámina, que no es de las mejores lo acepto, pero detrás de cada trazo hay momentos lindos en familia y mucho amor. ♥
Mi hijo se fue contento a clases luego de esta foto y sacó 20 en su exposición.
Finally I dedicated myself to outline all the letters, of this I have no photos because I did it in the wee hours of the morning, with a lot of sleep and dark circles under my eyes, but we managed as a team to get ahead this sheet, which is not the best I accept it, but behind each stroke there are beautiful moments in family and a lot of love. ♥
My son was happy to go to class after this photo and got 20 in his exhibition.
