¡Hola Chicos!
Tenía tiempo que no les hacía un post de nuestras compras y ese tiene un especial significado po todo lo que hemos vivido durante las últimas semanas. Diciembre no fue un mes para nada sencillo. Estuvo cargado de retos sobre todo en el área financiera porque no se obtuvieron las ganancias esperadas y debido a que nos tocaba pagar alquiler y servicios de Internet, quedamos con pocos recursos.
Para rematar los últimos días del año fueron difíciles porque se descompuso nuestro aire acondicionado y sin tener los medios para solucionar en el momento, nos tocó vivir noches bastante calurosas.
Finalizamos el año con buen pie, pero todo se vino a pique luego de todo el revuelo que hubo en el país, el valor de USDT en relación con los bolívares bajó y todo se hizo más complicado a la hora de conseguir la comida. No estábamos percibiendo nada del local porque no estábamos dando clases y para rematar el aire acondicionado se volvió a dañar.
Parecía que la cosa no iba a emparejar nunca pero tenía la plena seguridad de que iniciando las clases todo mejoraría. Así fue, apenas comenzamos clases ayer y todo comenzó a tomar un mejor rumbo.
Me pagaron unos clientes, recibimos nueva alumna en Lakrearte y pudimos pagarle al técnico lo de la reparada del aire acondicionado. Como me quedó dinero decidí ir con mi hijo a hacer una pequeña compra para la semana y no se imaginan lo bien que se sintió poder hacerlo finalmente.

It's been a while since I've posted about our shopping, and this one has special meaning because of everything we've been through these past few weeks. December was anything but easy. It was full of challenges, especially financially, because we didn't make the expected profits, and since we had to pay rent and internet bills, we were left with very little money.
To top it all off, the last few days of the year were difficult because our air conditioner broke down, and without the means to fix it right away, we had to endure some very hot nights.
We ended the year on a good note, but everything fell apart after all the turmoil in the country. The value of USDT against the bolivar dropped, and it became much harder to get food. We weren't earning anything from the shop because we weren't teaching classes, and to make matters worse, the air conditioner broke down again.
It seemed like things would never even out, but I was absolutely certain that once classes started, everything would improve. And it did. We only started classes yesterday, and everything began to take a turn for the better.
Some clients paid me, we had a new student at Lakrearte, and we were able to pay the technician for the air conditioner repair. Since I had some money left over, I decided to go with my son to do a small shop for the week, and you can't imagine how good it felt to finally be able to do it.
Tuvimos días fuertes y súper apretados en los que nos tocó comer lo que teníamos en la nevera y comprando con lo poco que iba saliendo de mi blog. Cuando hubo el problema a inicios de año habíamos comprado granos para varias comidas y con eso logramos llegar hasta el día de ayer.
Y a pesar de que no teníamos mucho, sobre todo en variedad, agradezco por cada plato de comida que tuvimos en nuestra mesa, pues nosotros que hemos vivido tantas situaciones a lo largo de estos años sabemos lo valioso que es tener un plato de comida. Y que a pesar de que no sea esa comida que anhelamos volver a probar, al menos tenemos comida segura, cosa que no todos tienen la dicha de tener.
Sabemos que esta situación mejorará pronto, es parte de una etapa, nuestro negocio apenas comienza y esta es esa clase de sacrificios que hay que hacer para tener un futuro mejor.
We had some tough, incredibly tight days where we had to eat whatever we had in the fridge and buy things with the little money I was making from my blog. When the problem started at the beginning of the year, we had bought enough grains for several meals, and that's how we got through until yesterday.
And even though we didn't have much, especially in terms of variety, I'm grateful for every plate of food we had on our table. Having lived through so many hardships over the years, we know how precious it is to have a meal. And even though it wasn't the kind of food we long to taste again, at least we had food to eat, something not everyone is fortunate enough to have.
We know this situation will improve soon; it's part of a phase. Our business is just starting out, and these are the kinds of sacrifices we have to make for a better future.
En cuanto a las tiendas que visitamos volvimos a la frutería que siempre acostumbramos. No íbamos desde el año pasado porque estuvieron cerrados hasta esta semana. Estaban remodelando sus espacios y cuando llegamos si notamos varios cambios, como la distribución de la mercancía y los colores de las paredes.
Ahora son naranja y hace sentir el espacio mucho más iluminado y alegre.
As for the shops we visited, we went back to our usual fruit shop. We hadn't been since last year because they were closed until this week. They were remodeling, and when we arrived, we noticed several changes, such as the layout of the merchandise and the wall colors.
Now they're orange, which makes the space feel much brighter and more cheerful.
Tomé de todo un poco, el menú para los siguientes días son lentejas y pasta. Así que tomé lo justo para hacer el guiso, la salsa y una ensalada cocida que quiero hacer pronto con remolacha.
Como tenemos la nevera dañada (otro mal que nos aqueja jaja) no puedo comprar muchas cosas porque no tenemos como conservarlas frescas. Solo tenemos el freezer y ahí todo se congela. Así que trato de simplificar un poco las preparaciones para que me permita conservarlas cocidas y congeladas.
I took a little bit of everything; the menu for the next few days is lentils and pasta. So I took just enough to make the stew, the sauce, and a cooked salad that I want to make soon with beets.
Since our refrigerator is broken (another problem we have, haha), I can't buy many things because we have no way to keep them fresh. We only have the freezer, and everything freezes in there. So I try to simplify the recipes a bit so I can keep them cooked and frozen.
Ya de ahí hicimos una parada en la panadería que está cerca y una última parada para comprar charcutería. Ya con esto tenemos lo suficiente para comer al menos una semana. Faltaron ciertas cositas como el arroz o la pasta pero sé que en estos días podremos hacer estas compras. Los gastos más fuertes ya fueron cubiertos y ya esto es un gran alivio.
La vida a veces nos pone retos pero siempre hay que tener seguridad en que todo va a mejorar. Si uno se enfoca en las carencias y lo negativo, nunca se saldrá de ese estado, en cambio si tenemos fe en que todo mejorará, así será más temprano que tarde.

From there, we stopped at the nearby bakery and then made one last stop to buy deli meats. With this, we have enough to eat for at least a week. We were missing a few things like rice and pasta, but I know we'll be able to buy those in the next few days. The biggest expenses are covered, and that's a huge relief.
Life sometimes throws us challenges, but we must always have faith that things will get better. If we focus on what's lacking and the negative, we'll never get out of that state. On the other hand, if we have faith that everything will improve, it will sooner rather than later.
