¡Hola Chicos!
La primera semana de clases fue algo ruda la verdad, adaptándome al nuevo horario de clases donde tuve que eliminar unas clases, suspender otras, sobrellevando todo el proceso que estamos atravesando en el país.
Recibí noticias no tan alentadoras como el retiro de algunos alumnos y financieramente hablando aún estamos algo inestables en casa. A pesar de todo trato de luchar contra esa pesadez.
Pero esta última clase de verdad que me tumbó porque además que recibí otra noticia triste, tuvimos un enorme reto con la electricidad. Pero vayamos por partes con este cuento a ver si aprovecho y termino de hacer catarsis con estas situaciones desafortunadas.

The first week of classes was pretty rough, to be honest, adjusting to the new class schedule where I had to drop some classes, cancel others, and cope with everything that's happening in the country.
I received some not-so-encouraging news, like the withdrawal of some students, and financially speaking, we're still a bit unstable at home. Despite everything, I'm trying to fight against that feeling of being overwhelmed.
But this last class really knocked me down because, in addition to receiving more sad news, we had a huge problem with the electricity. But let's take this one step at a time and see if I can finally vent about these unfortunate situations.
Yo desperté bien temprano, batallando con el sueño porque tenía bastante tiempo que no lo hacía y menos para salir a trabajar.
Me esperaba una larga jornada porque para los sábados ahora tengo dos turnos y me toca estar desde la mañana hasta la tarde en el local.
Entonces preparé la comida y todo lo necesario para las clases y salí de casa para la avenida. En el camino mi teléfono me dio un pequeño susto porque justo después de tomar la segunda foto que ven acá, la cámara se puso negra y no había manera que reaccionara.
Pero luego de reiniciarlo todo volvió a la normalidad y mi corazón latió de nuevo jajaja.
I woke up really early, battling sleep because it had been a while since I'd slept, especially not before going to work.
I was expecting a long day because I now have two shifts on Saturdays, and I have to be at the shop from morning until late afternoon.
So I prepared lunch and everything I needed for classes and left the house for the avenue. On the way, my phone gave me a little scare because right after I took the second photo you see here, the camera went black and wouldn't turn back on.
But after restarting it, everything went back to normal and my heart started beating again, haha.
Cuando llegué al local todo lucía normal, encendí las luces y me puse a barrer antes de encender el aire. Luego tomé el control y cuando fui a encenderlo no hacía nada.
Por un momento pensé que eran las baterías pero cuando vi que en la pantalla si se movían las cosas me acerqué hasta el regulador de la electricidad y lo vi en rojo.
Pensé "debe ser que hubo un bajón de luz y no me di cuenta" y seguí acomodando las cosas. Pero entonces cuando faltaban pocos minutos para iniciar la clase y la luz aún seguía rojo me preocupé.
Tenía fe de que con el pasar de los minutos todo se solucionaría pero cuando llegó una alumna con su mamá ella me comentó que los locales de abajo tenían las puertas abiertas. Esto solo significaba algo, problemas eléctricos en el centro comercial.
No es la primera vez que pasamos por algo similar, es por eso que ya sabía que era algo que perduraría el resto del día.
When I arrived at the shop, everything looked normal. I turned on the lights and started sweeping before turning on the air conditioning. Then I grabbed the remote, and when I went to turn it on, nothing happened.
For a moment, I thought it was the batteries, but when I saw that things were moving on the screen, I went over to the power regulator and saw it was red.
I thought, "There must have been a power outage, and I didn't notice," and I continued tidying up. But then, with only a few minutes left before class started and the light still red, I got worried.
I was confident that everything would be resolved as the minutes passed, but when a student arrived with her mother, she told me that the shops downstairs had their doors open. This could only mean one thing: electrical problems in the mall.
It's not the first time we've experienced something like this, so I already knew it was something that would last the rest of the day.
Por ser la primera clase hubo varias inasistencias, esto me alivió un poco pues aunque el local estaba fresco con mas niños hubiera significado una clase calurosa.
Trabajamos como pudimos, sin mucha presión a las niñas y sin mucho agite para no acalorarnos.
Since it was the first class, there were several absences, which relieved me a bit because, although the room was cool, with more children it would have been a very hot class.
We worked as best we could, without putting too much pressure on the girls and without too much strenuous activity so as not to overheat.
Lamentablemente me tocó suspender la otra clase porque a pesar de que el ambiente no estaba tan caluroso, el horario que seguía era el más fuerte y posiblemente estaríamos bien incómodos.
De igual forma les consulté a las alumnas para ver si asistían entre semana y por suerte todas estuvieron de acuerdo y cómodas con la decisión.
Yo la verdad me sentía baja de ánimos y solo quería volver a casa. Antes de venirme aproveché de pegar las dos láminas que ya había arreglado en sus espacios y eso me sacó una sonrisa porque se ven bien lindas ya colgadas.
Estas láminas las hicimos el año pasado en el primer taller que hicimos en el centro artístico y representan mucho para mi. Recién fue que les hice los ajustes necesarios y ya por fin están exhibidos luego de varios meses guardados.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel the other class because, even though it wasn't too hot, the next class was the most intense, and we would probably have been quite uncomfortable.
I asked the students if they would attend during the week, and luckily, they all agreed and were comfortable with the decision.
I was honestly feeling down and just wanted to go home. Before leaving, I took the opportunity to hang the two prints I had already arranged up, and that brought a smile to my face because they look so lovely hanging up.
We made these prints last year in the first workshop we held at the art center, and they mean a lot to me. I only just made the necessary adjustments, and they are finally on display after being stored away for several months.
Ya cuando iba en camino a la parada del transporte noté que varios negocios ya habían cerrado. Al igual que yo saben como es la rutina cuando pasan estas eventualidades.
En cuanto a mi estado de ánimo decidí por ese día darme un tiempo para procesar los acontecimientos, sentir esa tristeza que me arropaba y de ahí ir soltando de a poco.
A veces es difícil mantener siempre el positivismo, a pesar de que esa sea tu filosofía de vida. En ocasiones debemos permitirnos sentir, así no sea lo más agradable del mundo, pues son esos momentos los que nos enseñan e impulsan a seguir.
As I was walking to the bus stop, I noticed that several businesses had already closed. Like me, they know how things get when these kinds of events happen.
As for my mood, I decided to take some time that day to process what had happened, to feel the sadness that enveloped me, and then gradually let it go.
Sometimes it's hard to always stay positive, even if that's your philosophy of life. Sometimes we have to allow ourselves to feel, even if it's not the most pleasant thing in the world, because it's those moments that teach us and motivate us to keep going.
