Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, which recently premiered on Netflix, only confirms once again how easy it is to get hooked on K-dramas. As is usual in these Korean miniseries, it is an intriguing mix of genres, featuring romantic comedy, period drama, and a touch of fantasy.

This time, we follow the adventures of chef Yeon Ji-yeong, a three-Michelin-starred chef who mysteriously travels through time from the present day to find herself trapped in the Joseon era, in the middle of the 14th century.
To save her life, she must surprise the demanding palate of the tyrannical lord of those lands, which today would be modern-day Korea, by cooking the most exquisite dishes every day.

From reality TV winner to palace kitchen, cooking will be the common thread that guides us throughout the series, with each episode dedicated, as its title suggests, to preparing the dish that gives it its name, in which our protagonist will fuse her knowledge of modern cuisine with ingredients from the period, always respecting, it seems, the utmost historical accuracy.
All this is seasoned with the complications and impossible loves so typical of any good romantic comedy, which on this occasion will be complemented by palace plots full of intrigue, dirty tricks, grudges, and backstabbing.
