The truth is that I could not have helped it but to be biased. But then, whether I am biased or not, we all know the truth. Yes, you reading this post, you know the truth. But it is okay, I expect everyone to be biased on this one. The only reason why those from Nigeria would not be is because they are actually the best 😀; and the entire world knows about that. It is not our fault, though - we are just simply good at what we do.

For the sake of those who do not know the prompt, we are talking about music here. Can you imagine any country or nation claiming to be better than Nigeria with regards to music? As for me, I cannot imagine that; yet some people can. There are actually those who think there are better music genres than those of Nigeria, and it really surprises me. On hearing about this topic, the first thing I did was to ask Google. I simply asked which country has the best music, and Google lied.

Mentioning countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany before Nigeria was the most annoying thing I saw today 😒. But then, I refuse to be angry. The reason is simple: who get level no get need to para 😌. With this being said, we know who we are; we are the best. No matter what the internet has to say, we are and will always be the best.

Joke apart, I have always been a lover of Afro genres. But then, it was not always like this, until I changed. As a young teenager, I was one of those who made comments like Niger music na nonsense, but I changed with time. I guess going to school and meeting good guys who understood Afro-music had a lot to do with my sudden love for Afro-music. Yet, I love the gentle and easy-going side of it.

I know people will attack me on this one, but I will say it regardless 😏. If you think I am considering Afrobeat when I speak of Nigeria being the best in music, you are completely wrong; nothing concerns me concern Afrobeat. When I speak of the best Nigerian genres, I am speaking of the easy-going ones, the ones that give you the traditional palmwine groove vibes. I am speaking of the likes of highlife (contemporary to be precise), Fuji, the Afro-jazzy genres, and many more. I know Afrobeat lovers will argue, claiming the genre has gone international and it is now being sung by so many, but na them know 😌.

Let me make it clear once again: it is Nigeria for me, and it is specifically not Afrobeat. If you want to listen to good music from Nigeria - the best you will ever hear - make sure you leave comments asking me to make recommendations for you. We are the best, but Afrobeat is the least of what we have got. There are so many others that you probably do not know about, and I am ready to show them to you.
