MY FAVORITE SONG: FAME BY ADEKUNLE GOLD
I encountered my favorite song while I was in the university. As at that time, my scope for music had changed. I was no longer the boy that only enjoyed listening to good music, I was now a musician myself. I guess the life of a musician made who I became. All of a sudden I started developing interest in Afro music and the likes of Simi, Adekunle Gold, Jonny Drill, Fireboy, Cobhams, Asa and so many others became my favorite. Notwithstanding the fact that I now prefer Afro to any other genre that there is, I still prefer my music calm and soft. That is no doubt evidenced in my preferred artists and that still lead me to encountering my Favorite song.
Right from the first day I heard the song Fame by Adekunle Gold it has no doubt become my favorite. The first thing that captivated me about Fame is the lyrics of the song. Though the lyrics unlike my others never spoke to me directly but it was deep, so deep that it emphasized on issues that is very contemporary. It emphasized on a problem that many suffer but yet see it as normal.
FAME BY ADEKUNLE GOLD
I love the song Fame by Adekunle Gold to the extent that everything about it interests me. Apart from the fact that the lyrics was what captivated me, the song Fame has an amazing instrumental. The song Fame is majorly characterized by a easy going accustic guitar lines. Though Afro percussion was latter introduced but the mild guitar sound never stopped dominating as the percussion was as soft as it can ever be. At some point you could hear the sound of the talking drums which along side the accent of the singer (Adekunle Gold) gave a typical Yoruba feel to the song. Though the percussion at some point became a little bit more than soft but the guitar will not stop dominating. At this point it became obvious that there are two guitar playing, one guitarist along can certainly not be able to come up with such magical production.
Notwithstanding the fact that the world is now highly connected, there are still so many lonely people all around us. People are everywhere but we yet live in a lonely world. As simple as the song Fame is, it prompts me to reflect on the sad reality of the world each time I hear it. Personally the song Fame by Adekunle Gold serves as a reminder to the fact that there are numerous lonely people all around me and it helps me see the need to become more attentive. It is only by being attentive that we can discover the lonely ones and only then can we attend to their need. It is all about humanity.
Go back, take some time and listen to Fame by Adekunle Gold above if you have not not already. I am @ernesto6402 and I appreciate the fact that you find time to read through my post. I am happy to have sheared my favorite song with you. One Love ✌️
