Where I come from, it use to be absolutely normal for parents to determine the status of whoever their children will be getting married to. Even though such traditions are gradually fading away, one can still see treats of it in our different society. Whether it's for the best reason or not, I do not support parents directly influencing the love life of their adult children. I have always been of the opinion that people should be given the opportunity to choose who they want to be with. An adult should be allowed to take decisions as well as take responsibility for his or her decisions.

If the love is true, then it should not care. I believe that tribe, profession or even status are completely incapable of obstructing true love. Yes, I believe in true love and such love [even though it's rare] is should be unstoppable. A true love in my own opinion should only be stopped when it stops being. The story line of Simi's lyrics in her song "love don't care" focused more on parents being averters of true love, but there are cases where parents are completely out of the picture. There are cases where out of some sort of fear lovers all by themselves refuse to give love a chance, they allow status, family and so many other differences hinder true love.

I completely agree with Simi, one should go for what he wants regardless of what the society, friends or even family have to say. True love is beautiful and it should not for any reason be cut short either by the lovers themselves or by external parties. Parents for me are only suppose to advice their children on what they think is best for them, making decision for a full grown adult is totally out of place. It is even more terrible when it concerns matters of love. Adults should be allowed to decide who they want to spend the rest of their live with, it is in fact their responsibility. In all, family, society and even status should not deprive you from ending up with the right person. It does not worth it...
