HOW I LEARN MY LYRICS

I love music and I love singing too. Sometimes I sing the wrong lyrics or what I think is the right one but I simply love singing. There have been cases where I sing the wrong lyrics of a song for years only to find out that I am singing the wrong thing years after. The most funny part is that it sometimes sound very similar to the original, so similar that someone close to me would not even realize that I am singing the wrong lyrics.

Speaking of how I learn my lyrics, I do not actually have a particular method, but I have a favorite method. If I am asked to choose between pen and paper or screen, I will certainly choose screen. Now let's get on with it, journey with me as I tell you how I best learn my music lyrics.

MY VERY EARLY MUSICAL STAGE

As a growing child, I loved music so much. From the look of things, I listened to more music then than now. At that stage, I did not bother myself much about how to learn the lyrics of a song, I simply sang what I heard. It was not that bad though, at least I always get eighty percent of every song right. I had a tender and amazing voice then and people admired my singing, but sometimes I get corrections on what the right lyrics of a song that I have been singing for a long time is.

MY SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STAGE

Though I was still a child but not really, at least I got my first android phone. As at before my senior secondary school I only used a Java phone as it was the most used as at that time and that characterized my musical life. Since I now have an android phone so many things were possible. Gradually I started developing love for music videos and sometimes lyrics come along with these videos. I gradually began to realize that I have been singing so many music the wrong way, but that was all in the past😁. At this stage, my pattern for learning of lyrics was characterized by music videos. I simply download videos that displays the lyrics of a song and read along while they play.

MY PRESENT DAY

Up till date, I still prefer listening to music while I read the lyrics along from my phone screen. Whenever I develop likeness for a song, I simply download a video of that song from YouTube, put on my earpiece and listen to it while I read the lyrics. As a matter of fact, I always make sure the videos I download are with lyrics. I do not know if it happens to you but I still sing wrong lyrics even at this stage, sometimes I still get to realize that I am singing the wrong lyrics of a song. Except for songs that I have completely fallen in love with, I still do singing what ever I hear from a song and sometimes I hear wrong and as a matter of fact I end up singing the wrong thing. There is nothing to be ashamed of here, I will say the truth and nothing but the Truth, I know many of you are like me too 😀.
