ENSURING A HEALTH EMOTION (COPING WITH DEPRESSION)
Anybody can once in a while feel dressed, but when you do there are ways to go about it. Just like you take care of yourself when you are physically sick, your mental health also need care. When ever you persistently feel sad or hopeless, know it that you are not feeling alright. You are emotionally sick and you need emotional care. In many occasions, people remain depressed simply because they do not see any need to act. They simply see their state of being as normal and thus they see no reason to act at all, they simply accept their faith and sometimes drown in it.
Apart from looking out for those around you who are depressed, there are means through which you can handle depression if you are experiencing one. Here are some of those means👇
Self Care: Taking care of yourself is probably the most important of all things, one must be well before he or she extends to others. As much as possible, eat good food, get enough sleep and exercise your body. One must also find time to go through relaxation exercises, meditation and some yoga exercises if possible. All of these will go a long way in ensuring and maintaining sound mind. And by extension, they can help in handling and preventing depression.
Socialisation: In times like this, one will need to be around people that cares and that cannot be archived if their is poor socialisation. It of great importance then that we build strong support network, stay around those who care and be as safe as possible around them. A lonely person is likely to encounter depression the most.
Seeking Professional Help: Just like you see a doctor when you are physically ill, it is absolutely normal to go to a psychologist when you are emotionally ill. That explains it all, just let your problem out and they will be resolved. You have got nothing ashamed of, it is normal to be emotionally down and it is normal to seek for help when you do.
Self Compassion: Most importantly, forgive yourself and understand that everything is certainly going to be alright. Just like you do to others, be kind to yourself and love her too.
You can only find a solution to your problem when you accept that you have one, accepting that you are depressed should be your first step towards getting out of it. But then you must understand that being depressed is not a sign of weakness, you must have a healthy mentality. Depression is real and just like I have already stated, you have nothing to be ashamed of, you simply need to take care of your emotionally health. Depression is real and causing damage to people, the thing there is that if you don't put effort to know people hardly tell when they are depressed. Let's continue to spread love and attention to the people around us, it's a good way to tackle depression...
