Textile Art Exhibition, or Dreamland For Me
It's been more than one week, since I visited this textile exhibition and now it's time to share my experience here on Hive, as there are people who are looking forward to seeing what these talented artists had to show visitors.
This is an annual event, where most of the textile and fiber artists are participating and I'm proud to say this is the second, if not the third year I've been able to visit it. The gallery lady notified me in advance, which I'm grateful for, so I made sure not to miss it. Trust me, this is not an exhibition you want to miss, especially if you are passionate about this type of art.
Anca Pia Rusan - Fragments
This was the first artwork I saw and as always, first I had a look at it from distance, then stepped closer, to see how it was made of. These were pieces of colored lace. The particularity of this artwork is that the 20 pieces are not identical, they are all different. I'm not sure what the artist meant here, but life is also made of so many pieces.
Gabriella Fábián - Unexpected Surprise
At first, these metal pieces seem like coins, I mean money, but they are not. Each piece has a different design and size. I love the copper color and the contrast between the black textile and the copper red.
Dalma Nagy - In Mysterious Light
I'm not sure if you can see it without zooming in, but this is a circle, made of individual stitches.
Enikő Simó - Panel I., Panel II.
I love geometrical shapes, lines and also love symmetry, so such artworks are definitely calling my name. The problem here is, I don't know what these were made of. With the technology we have today, zooming in is possible and helps a lot, but even so, I can't decide if these are different type of fabrics, or wood weaving, so to speak. Taking several steps back and looking at the pattern, you can see the difference.
Valentina Stefanescu - Outlines of a confused thought
This was a fantastic piece. I decided to be sneaky here and I'm not going to tell you what it is, only how it was made. I'll let you tell me what you see. Let's see if you see what I see 😆 Look at it as a riddle.
Basically there was a circle made of pins, or needles and a thread crossing the circle from one side to the other a million times. Obviously the million is a huge exaggeration, but you understand what I mean. Now you tell me what you see, in a comment.
Ágnes Szabó Csíki - Phoenix
When it comes to textile and fiber art, many think two pieces of fabric and three threads will do, but it's not like that, far from it. They often say, sky is the limit, but in this area, there are no limits, or not even the sky is the limit. This artwork proves it.
This is a landscape, made of canvas, wood, felt and bones. As I said, there's no limits in this industry, but I've never dreamed of seeing bones on canvas. I tried to figure out what kind of bones were those (not that I'm a bone or skeleton expert), but I couldn't. Some small animal for sure.
Zooming out, it's an exceptional idea, to use felt for clouds, wood to illustrate mountains, and bones as well, because nature is made of flora, fauna and so much more.
Enikő Bíró Kálmán - Waterfall, Waves
This was a huge surprise. I mean the idea is excellent. These are pieces of paper, torn to a unique size each, but it's paper, not fiber or textile. Regardless, I love the idea.
I took a close-up photo for you to see. While I was looking at the artwork, was thinking how much paper was wasted while creating it, as there's no way you can tear each piece exactly as you'd like.
Annamária Orbán - Crazy Smile
Mixed media, you have textile, paper and painting. I'm not a huge fan of Monalisa, but like the combination of different type of materials.
Tell me what you think. Do you like mixed media like this?
Elena Denisa Cristescu - The Flow Of Life
This is just a part of the exhibition, so if you're interested in this type of art, stay tuned for the next episode.

Yes, what can I say? These creations are outstanding, absolutely fantastic. I can't choose one of them, because they are all so good. I'm so glad you visit exhibitions, because unfortunately I can't stand a lot of people moving around, and you get a much better view of the artwork through....you!
I don't like the crowd either because it's hard to take photos of the exhibited items, but I usually go in the morning and there's no crowd then.
I'm glad you liked these. There's a lot more coming in this week.
I'm looking forward to it, it's going to be exciting!
Thank you @jlinaresp 😊
I see your name on all the paintings, is it you who created them? If it is you? Then you are a unique soul!
Nooo, unfortunately. I am not an artist. I write my name on the photos because are mine, but only the photos.
I really don't know which one to choose or which one is my favourite, first I thought the second one, but then I saw the confused thoughts and I was fascinated... it's a woman's face!
And the one after that with so many textures.... I think they are my favourite teas. An amazing and beautiful display of art!
Yes, it's a woman's face. Can you imagine the level of creativity and skills you need to create such an image using threads and pins? It's fantastic.
The other you mentioned is fantastic as well.
What I also think is the amount of time it took to synchronise and arrange the threads to form the face, totally incredible.
Great Post, love this so much ❤️
I'm glad to hear that 😊
Thank you, a good friend, who shared this exhibition with us. And we experienced this pure sense too
Please as always. I like to share what I see because so many here don't have the opportunity to go to exhibitions.
Yes it really is. Thank you
These are all quite excellent. I love seeing textile exhibits as they really show how creative the artist is by using something in such an unexpected way.
I think the 1st is my fav because of those rich colours.
The shape of the skull on the skeleton makes me think duck/mallard but I'm no expert.
Excellent choice @artofkylin. It takes rich imagination to select those pieces and put together the artwork.
"Valentina Stefanescu - Outlines of a confused thought" - is this one long thread, or many shorter ones?
In general, the coolest work in my opinion is Waterfall, Waves.
It looks like one thread as I don't see a joint point, that would ruin everything.
Interesting choice you made here. You're thinking out of the box.
I have not had the opportunity to see a textile exhibition, it is a pity that here where I live there is only one museum and there are few occasions during the year when the exhibitions change, but it is always a pleasure to see the ones you attend, they are always very interesting works.
Textile exhibitions are not so common. You may see a piece or two at some exhibitions but to dedicate an entire exhibition to textile and fiber is rare.
I'm lucky in this regard because I have so many exhibitions each month for free. I also love showing the photos here because so many don't have the opportunity and these pieces mostly stay local.

Excellent pieces, I am surprised at how many of them are created since it is a brutal time that must be dedicated to them to get them so well and neat. I must say that I don't always understand art but in this opportunity there are pieces that I would have on the wall of my house.
