I wanted to quote a few stupid things here, but there are so many that are not only stupid, but outdated as well, that it's a waste of time discussing each one.
These people need to wake up and drop the ripping off act as no one in their right mind should sponsor the whole village (relatives) just because they are getting marries.

I agree and it does seem like an opportunity for "family" to get some things for free at the brides expense. Definitely outdated and why they had no idea about the laws which will have caught so many men out. Times have changed and certain customs and traditions should also change with the times.
