New Year, New Exhibitions

New Year! Yeah, one month is almost gone of the new year, but for me, the exhibition season has just started. Today I visited three new exhibitions and I'd like to share some photos taken at one of them. Just don't know which one to start with. I think it's best to start with the first one so here it is.

New Year, New Exhibitions.jpg

What you're going to see today is a collection of artworks from a Transylvanian art camp held in 2025. It is a great variety of works of all kinds, very different from what you're used to see, so let's get started.

This was what I saw when I stepped into the gallery and knew right away I'm going to have an interesting experience. My first impression was right.

Ferencz Zoltán - Sinus

This was a photo of an illuminated corrugated roof. It's an interesting concept, but it's not a work I'd hang on my wall.

Zsolt Asztalos - Lines

These came as a surprise, to not say shock. These were painted board pieces, tied together with a string, or with a tape. Some of the boards were painted. There was only the title, no specific explanation, so I moved on, but at the end, I had a word with the curator lady and found out that these two works symbolize how we, people are. We are all different, some are tall, others are short and the colors also mean how different we are.

Now the funny thing is, that if you think about it, it makes sense, but you would never be able to figure out the meaning on your own. The other interesting thing (I told the curator lady as well) is that if a well known artist creates such a work, it is called art. If I put this together, people would say I have lost my mind 😂 This is how the art world works.

Kata Ungvári-Zrinyi - 12 Angry People

Here I need to give you some explanation, to be able to understand what you see. yes, what you see and not what the artist meant, as I'm just guessing here.

The title says 12 Angry People, which, in a way makes reference to the old movie called 12 Angry Men, but here we have ladies as well, so I preferred to use the term people.

You see a set of 12 people on each side. On the left side it says Leftists, while (as you can guess) on the right side it says Rightists. Basically you see the same people, once turned to the left, and once turned to the right.

If you think deeper, that's how politics work, politicians are turning to where life is better for them, or to the side that offers better benefits for them. It's sad, but I suppose there's always the right price to buy someone's loyalty, beliefs or whatever needs to be bought to turn them.

It's a genius interpretation, for sure.

And this is when I'm banging my head against the wall. For the first time in 8 years, how long I am on Hive, this happens to me.

I always take two shots of everything, in case one is blurry, the second one is the backup. The next artwork, that was an amazing, extraordinary one, can't be posted, because both shots are blurry, most likely I moved my hand, which never happens. I mean 99.99999999999% of the time both shots are good. It's frustrating to say the least, but it is what it is. Maybe I'll go back and take another shot, or two, or maybe three, to be sure.

Sándor Szász - Time's Child

I'll let this for you, as a riddle, tell me what you understand from here.

Levente Horváth - Light is digging shadows

Another amazing work in my opinion and the title is perfect. Obviously the shadows change, depending on where the light is coming from. I love it. Out of the box thinking, but wait as you haven't see the toughest artwork yet.

József Tasnádi - Spraying is good

Here i can be ct with you and say, this was shocking. Do you know what the orange tank is? This is what farmers are using to spray plants with. My dad has one as well, his is yellow by the way 😜

The funny thing is, if you go to the exhibition without previous notice, you think this device was left there by accident. I was told by the curator, to watch out as that's an artwork itself 😲

This is it for today, I hope I could bring you something interesting and extraordinary. Let me know what you think.

So interesting pieces of art! I like the "Spraying is good", it's really funny. Along the time I watched similar installation, include one with a simple rag for cleaning on a trash can, but years ago there was a scene I can't forget: in a art exhibition a man asked to the artist if the broom placed in a corner was an art installation, but the artist was sorry and said "Ops, no, the cleaning lady forgot to put it away". 😁

That story is really funny 😆 With all the craze going on today, you can never be sure what is art and what isn't. This spraying device was shocking, more so because my dad has one and I knew exactly what it is and how it works.

I think at this day of age, we can be ready for everything 😆

hah that definitely is not really my kind of art... as you say, if i do "Spraying is good" and say it's a piece of art, i get a laugh in my face but if an artist does that it's art lol... i like what really takes skills in painting, sculpture, photograph and so on...

Time's Child... i can't really guess the meaning, i see behind smoke like from an explosion and the lady is holding an egg... but i can't get it 🤣

i pick Sinus even though it seems kinda foggy

It is a known fact that you first have to get famous, then you can do whatever you want, sell garbage as art, or sell a banana duck taped to the wall for 4m as there will always be an idiot like Sun, to buy it.

The final artwork was too contemporary, but who are we to judge? 😅

Who are we to judge? We are the audience this art has been created for, so yes, we have the right to judge 😎

As for the last work ... work .... well... there is a painter here in Spain who calls that hamparte, as if I say that a vase is art, it is... in short, without words.

The riddle... the boy can be the egg and survives the time that marks the explosions, he is saved by a lady from dying... it's a bit weird...

My favourite play, it's great!!!

You picked a nice one as this piece is changing based on where the light comes from. The rest ... well, we all have our opinion, but wait as there's more to come 😄
