Memories Of The Past
As part of my lifestyle change, I started decluttering and this action includes cleaning not only my wardrobes, closets, but my photos as well. I'm not a professional photographer, but every decent photographer takes at least two shots of everything, in case something goes wrong, you have a spare, which is the smart thing to do, but it has disadvantages as well, because storage space is limited. Back in my dad's days, taking two short of everything was a luxury, because they worked with films, there was no digital possibility yet, this was born later, but today you have the possibility to secure what you're shooting.
I have an 1TB external unit to store my photos, but at the rate I'm taking photos, it can fill up at some point and buying another one, just because I'm lazy to delete the photos I don't need id not an option. This is how I started reviewing my photos and came across quite a few that has never been posted. Till today anyway as I'm starting to post these slowly.
Autumn Morning
This photo was taken in May 2022 and have no idea why it wasn't posted. It's a wonderful scene, due to the colors. I love this type or brown and blue mixing together. The funny thing is, the place itself has nothing special, but those colors win it all.
Triple Cross
This is an unusual photo from every point of view. First of all, light fall on the cross and it takes away from its value, so I apologize for that. Secondly, I don't know if the "sparkles" are artificial, or there was a fire close by to create this effect, but it looks good for sure. Now, the cross. I don't know if this triple cross is common or not, I'm not catholic or orthodox, we don't have a cross in our religion, but it looks good.
This photo has a deeper meaning if you're into this kind of interpretation. Crosses have religious meaning and sometimes the light is also part of a deeper meaning, so you could create some theories here :)
Erythronium
This was a lovely shot from every point of view. Look at the delicate petals of the flower, how the light highlights and the dark background the petals. This flower is not unknown in my country, but you can't find it on every corner. I haven't had the chance to take a photo of this species, but not giving up on it. I'd love to have this photo on my wall.
I'm not a fan of long exposure when it comes to water, but the place is a dream. I could sit there watching and listening to the water all day. It's amazing what nature can create and it's shocking what humans can ruin and how quickly. This place looks untouched though.
Morning on the Lake
Some of us have this view or a similar one every single day. For me, this is another dream. Waking up to a foggy lake and looking at these wonderful colors can be therapeutic and uplifting as well.
Endurance
The word endurance I suppose refers to the stones, which are subject to erosion by the rushing water, but still, for any visible transformation you'd need centuries if not more. Anyway, (not a fan of long exposure) this place has the same value for me as the waterfall and the lake, just in a different way. A rushing creek means life. The fresh and cold water (literally fresh) means wealth for everyone.
Melting
This is a scene you can only capture at certain parts of the world. As a kid, I remember seeing a similar scene once at the river, but back then we had proper winters, which have disappeared since then. We barely have snow, let alone ice. For ice to be this thick, you need temperatures way below zero, for a long time. Ice can be a really good subject to photograph, if you know how. I'd love a photo shoot there, but most likely it's not going to happen in the near future.
Rhapsody
I'll let this to you. Tell me what you see on the photo. What did the photographer photographed here?
Pulsatilla Patens
This lovely flower is on my list too, but I don't know where I could find such beauty during Spring. I can't remember if it was the same photographer, but the technique is the same as in the previous flower photo. Look at how lovely the light is on the photo.
Dewy Blueberries
I miss taking similar photos and I miss nature. Waking up in the middle of the nowhere, enjoying fresh air taking long walks, while enjoying silence. This year my photo activity is limited to exhibitions I'm afraid and that's not going to change. The market is starting to move and I'm locking in, trading as much as I can, so no time for anything else. But I miss nature a lot. Maybe next year ...

looks like ice on a ditch to me
Interesting. Could be ...
Such delicate images, the Pulsatilla Patens seem to dance among the grass, gently illuminated by a light that brings out the beauty of their petals. Truly stunning
I think so too, there were so many amazing photos.
I love the Erythronium and Endurance photos; I admire them much more, though the rest are amazing too, so tempting I must say to choose from.
I also love taking pictures in twos or threes, and when I'm done, would pick my favourites and delete immediately instead of keeping them to sit for long.
I don't delete them immediately as you never know when you need a clean one, without watermark, but not every photo worth keeping and sometimes a good cleaning is needed.
Yes, you are right about that.
When I was teaching Photoshop, I had a photographer as a student, and I learned from her that you should always take two photos of everything, especially people... for example, in case they blink. I also have a hard drive for everything: my designs, videos, work, photos, everything!
All nature photographs fascinate me, but I spent a long time looking at that lake with the mist... beautiful!
In response to your question, it looks like abstract photographic art, and I see the universe, or dimensions, parallel universes. That's what I see, it's a beautiful piece of work!
I think those who have some experience in photography always take more than one shot. If not, they learn the hard way.
The lake with the mist is a dream.
Interesting. @stresskiller has a different opinion above. I love when opinions differ from one another :)
that is probably because i look different at things with macro photography ;)
Same thing, different points of view, very interesting!
Ice in a ditch... that's an interesting point of view, a macro one! I also love meeting people who see things differently!
i always take also 2 picture of the same thing, it's not hard event that one comes out not very well, then you have a backup
honestly they are all great photos, i can't really pick the best, i'd say my favorite would be Morning on the Lake and the waterfall without a title
Rhapsody i think is a very very close up of some water, there seems to be 3 transparent tentacles too
Exactly!
Morning on the lake takes first place then as we're more than one person loving it.
I should do this more often as it's a fun game 😆 Honestly, I have no idea what it is. Maybe air bubbles in the ice?
that could be too, but there's kinda too much to be ice i think 🤔
The Rhapsody image looks like burbles.
I always loved photography but I could never fully understand it because I knew it something that’s more technical than it appears. Color balancing and telling a story…
Thank you for giving us a feel of your world. It’s peaceful!
I must admit, I don't know this word, had to look it up and I'm not sure I am smarter now.
