Maybe There's Hope
A few days ago I wrote a post about the catastrophe that happened regarding a lovely salt mine I have visited several times over the years. If you've missed it, it's not to late to read it, it's this one.
This case is in my mind every day since I have learnt about the problem. Somehow I can't get it out of my mind. I can't understand how the hell such tragedy can happen and how things can get to this point? It is affecting me emotionally because I've been planning to visit it and that is out of the question now.
Since I published my post, things got worse and better in the same time. This statement can look confusing but I'll explain it to you.
Things got worse because the mine got flooded, both the visitor and the mining area are full of water. This is a salt mine, not a concrete structure, so the more the water stays inside, the greater the danger of collapsing. The water dissolves the salt and it's the end of it.
The whole region's (a few villages) livelihood depends on the mine. People have been protesting in front of the mine ever since. Many have been crying openly, in front of the camera, so you can imagine the emotional impact this case has.
The good thing is, politicians at the highest level have stepped in and today the President, Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy paid a visit and are working on a plan to stop the flooding and plan the rehabilitation works and this is not all. They are also working on a plan to support those affected by this catastrophe.
After having a totally useless president for 10 years, it's nice to see the new one, who took office last week, getting to work so fast and serving the people who voted him. There's one county heavily affected by the flood, people lost everything in a day, the only thing they have is the clothes on their backs, so if now is not the time to help, then when?
It's nice to see authorities stepping in and working on plans to help those in need, but I'm wondering if those responsible are going to face the consequences. This is a known issue, turns out in 2007, there was a risk assessment project done, they knew this can happen, yet nothing has been done. I truly hope those responsible are going to pay. The damage they have caused is ... huge.
It's going to take some time and a lot of money to restore the mine, to set up the visitor area and production as well, but I hope they are going to get there. So many people need the treatment, kids and adults as well. Salt is also sought after. Let this be a lesson and those who have things neglected, better get themselves together and get to work as such attitude is not tolerated.

It is great finally some improvement are taking place... Mining area looks so amazing.. i wish to visit there..
Maybe one day. I hope I can visit this year, to see what they did, hiw they restored the area.
Excellent.
Thanks.
So beautiful Post, really amazing photos, thank you for sharing with us.
Pleasure.
A rare win for a centralist candidate in these divided times. Sounds like great news. I think the center is totally gone in the US right now. All right or all left. Certainly good news for the salt mine 🙂
It's been half a year of a roller coaster ride, but we finally have a pro-EU president and can continue building. Is he the best? Dunno, but from the two we had to choose from, he's the better candidate. We dodged the bullet, so to speak.
It's a pity that this beautiful place is at risk of being lost forever. I was watching the news, and they mentioned a lot of wrongdoing in the management of the mines for more than a decade...
Yet, let's hope for the best!

It is a real tragedy. Those who visited the place know and feel it as their own tragedy. I hope those responsible are going to pay as this can't be tolerated. Enough is enough.

The negligence these days over some responsibility given to people is becoming really alarming. Hopefully the mine will be restored and you will be able to pay a visit and share with us in the future.

The good news is, raining has stopped and if the mine does not crumble, then they can save it. I'm glad authorities of the highest level got implicated and things are moving forward now. Some people are going to pay.
I'm also hoping I can visit the newly reopened mine, when it happens and do a post for everyone to see.
Hopefully everything will be resolved for the good of the people who have lost everything. At least the competent authorities are doing what they should. That support in these cases is crucial. In your photos the place looks beautiful and peculiar. Thanks for taking us there. Greetings.
It is an unique place, especially for the adventure park, there are not many (if there's any) in Europe. But it is most famous for the salt air, which is crucial for so many people suffering from respiratory diseases. Now all that is gone. Let's hope they can restore the mine and open it this year.
I hope so 🤞

It is good to know that at least there is some hope in the midst of such a horrible situation.
I hope the authorities manage to rehabilitate the mine and that the area prospers and that those affected receive the help they require. And above all, I hope that those responsible pay for their actions or omissions.
Happy Sunday!
The human being thinks he is all powerful but nature comes and makes us see how small and fragile we are, in these occasions is where people manage to unite to get ahead, manage to bring out all the good we have and we can be. Incredible the place you shared in the photos, it looks like another world.
