Let's Visit An Open Air Exhibition

Life is funny sometimes and gifts you something unique. Some can see these gifts, some can't appreciate them and some don't even notice them. We're all different and this is why the world is so colorful and interesting, never boring.

Let's Visit An Open Air Exhibition.jpg

I've changed a lot since I'm on Hive and have transitioned from blind walker to noticing everything. Sounds brutal and maybe a bit arrogant as well, because no one wants to be called blind walker, but the truth is, most of the people fit this category. They are preoccupied by their everyday problems and can't see much of what's going on around them. Hive has changed me and now I'm noticing every little detail. I'm lucky this way.

This open air exhibition caught my eye from far and rushed immediately to see what it is about and had to realize this was worth gold for several reasons. I love photography exhibitions, most of you know that, because you can see a lot of unimaginable photos and can also learn from the photos of you have an open mind, but this was more than just photography. This was history as well.

This was the moment I started to smile. Apart from No. 4, I knew all the places and was thinking how nice it would be to go to these places, take photos of the objectives and post both. Unfortunately there was no time as this would be a job for a day or half a day and it was too late.

What you see on the photos are historical buildings, protected by law, which means any restoration work has to be done respecting the original design. This would suggest that these buildings look the same all the time, but that's not true. Some get neglected for various reasons and that's where photography comes in. You can document their lives through photos.

These photos came as surprise as I haven't seen these in real life, I don't know where these are, but it's good to see them in photos.

20250702_115419a.JPG

I like photographing historical buildings by night, but I rarely do it myself. Maybe I should start focusing on it. Never too late.

20250702_115451a.JPG

The funny thing is, I recognized some of the names, the names of the photographers. Going to exhibitions as regularly as I do, paying attention to details helps you a lot.

These photos made me smile again. I know these places, have take photos there repeatedly, but no matter how often you take photos in the same place, you can never get the same result. The bears are exception though. I mean I have photos of bears taken in the zoo, but never outside it. It's not impossible, given the fact that bears in Romania are roaming around freely like people in other places. Bears are protected, these animals are 5 times more than their living space would support and I'm getting alerts every week, letting me know that bears were seen 1km from my hope. However, I'm not eager to chase them in order to take a few photographs. Last week a foreign biker was found dead, who fall victim of a bear. So no thanks.

20250702_115538a.JPG

These places are known to me as well, which means I could take similar photos there, but that's not true. Just because you know the place and have the opportunity to take photos, that doesn't mean you will get the quality you see on the photos. It would be foolish to believe that. You need more than that.

20250702_115616a.JPG

This is where it gets interesting. Tradition, culture and history is always a good mix and here you have it all. Fold costumes showing people are respecting and keeping traditions alive, sculptures paying tribute to people and events and church or tower bells, which used to have a very important role in people's lives. These bells are real works of art and also have some interesting history.

Moments of a city's life. Some photos are long exposure, others are manipulated for sure, but it doesn't matter as the result is amazing.

While looking at the photos, I was thinking, if you can't bring people to exhibitions, bring the exhibitions to people. For free. Make it available for everyone. Some people have heavy schedule and can't make it to exhibitions, but weekends are to relax and placing these photo boards in popular places, visited by many and it's a win win.

Have you ever seen such open air photo exhibitions?

What you brought today is spectacular... you know? The same thing happened to me, and I haven't even been at Hive for three years... I see everything, everything is photographable, it's incredible, I see the smallest details. Even more so when photography, art and history come together as in this case. I love the photos!

I've been going on night walks, especially last year. You should try it, it's great and the photos are very beautiful.

I didn't think you'd find it spectacular, but it's definitely interesting in my opinion.

I think those of us who have gone through this transformation are lucky. We're more skilled now, compared to those who can still only see the garbage at the side of the road or the big flowers as value. Yeah, sounds brutal, but this is reality.

It's true... we've evolved... others fell by the wayside. Good for us!

You're right, we're truly fortunate to have gone through this kind of shift in perspective. It's like we've learned to see the beauty and value in things that others used to overlook. It wasn't an easy process, but it's what made us more thoughtful and openminded. It's not really being 'brutal'it's the truth, and sometimes, it's the truth that opens our eyes.

i have never ever seen an open air exhibition, they always do them inside somewhere, possibly with a ticket

beara, i wouldn't go photo them either, they deserve their space... here a photographer went close to a bear mum with puppies, too close, bear attacked and killed him and then what the stupid authorities did? killed the mum

on that exhibition i like mostly the first photos, purely because i love history and they are closer to that than the others

I don't know where you live, but in my country these exhibitions are everywhere. With today's technology, it's easy to create waterproof panels that resist the weather and place them in key places.

The problem with bears is, authorities remove them and they come back, so some are killed here too.

I'm in a city near Venice, but when going to the center or parks I've never see that 😅 maybe they are afraid of vandalism

It's like discovering a whole new world through photography and history.

That's the main idea behind it. I hope you can find one soon.

It is indeed true as you said, hive brings something real that we usually do not notice, many little things that we ignore, but with hive so far even the smallest things I can notice, the spectacular photos of my friend.

Nice pictures of this exhibition, I love them. Yes you are right when you say that there are different types of people, sometimes we find some are very observant, some, on the other hand, do not pay attention when you talk to them and other distracted, well, in the vineyard of the Lord there is a little bit of everything, others who appreciate a great photograph and well that's the world .

This is such a beautiful post! 😍 It's heartwarming to read how you shared not only the beauty of the open-air exhibition but also your personal transformation since joining Hive. It's true sometimes we pass by amazing things without noticing them because we're too caught up in our daily thoughts and routines. It's truly inspiring how you've learned to appreciate the small details around you.
That idea of “if you can’t bring people to the exhibit, bring the exhibit to the people” really hit me! It’s such a creative and inclusive way to promote art, culture, and history to a wider audience.
Thank you for taking us along on this experience. It really felt like we were part of the exhibit through your story. 😄 I'm looking forward to reading more of your photo walks and reflections!

The concept of an open-air exhibition is so beautiful! It must feel so nice to stroll around while admiring art surrounded by nature.
And you said is so true we may all be different, but each of us has our own strengths and perspectives. The world really does become more beautiful because of our differences.
