Cuteness At The Highest Level And A Lot Of Fun
Las week I was visiting my dad and every time I'm there, I visit his neighbors too. This visit is not just to say hi, I also visit the rabbits and the two pigs they have. It's a privilege for me as living in a city doesn't give you the chance to get close to livestock, so I'm using these occasion to see how they grow and also, to take photos.
Yes, to take photos and also practice taking photos of animals. Those who have never done a photo shoot of animals think it's an easy job, but it's not. I'd say it's more difficult that photographing kids as you can capture the kid's attention for a moment or two, you can tell them to stay put and they may listen for a minute, but animals don't understand you and don't care either. So at the end of the day, your success depends on your ability of coping with the situation, finding a way to capture these moving little devils.
Meet Erika, not only my namesake, but she was named after me 😆🐇🐰 I've posted about her this year and was really happy to have another occasion to see her.
At first, I tried to photograph her between the planks and this is what I got.
Even though she is wearing my name, we are not friends. I mean I consider her my friend, but she doesn't feel the same. She doesn't trust me.
I tried to get close to her and she was ok with it, till ...
You see, she had something on her nose. I tried to take it off, clean it off, but she did not like it and tried to put her paw on my hand, not exactly on a friendly way.
I can't blame her honestly. Most likely I'd have had the same reaction, if a total stranger would have wanted to touch my nose.
Look at her, how cute she is.
Then there was this white cutie pie with red eyes, less friendly though.
Then there was this cutie, the hardest to photograph. I had to delete 4 photos as this is the only usable I have left with. She almost didn't fit in the frame as she was constantly moving.
Then there were these two 😆 eager to get attention and some petting.
Look at that look! They were both coming towards me and I had a hard time positioning myself as I didn't know how far they can reach with their nose and was afraid they can reach my camera.
Not the best photo, but look at that face 😄 I suppose they were hoping to get some food.
This was the other one, very curious about what I was doing. He was trying to touch me with his nose. Last time I wasn't fast enough and he got to me, touched my jeans and had to wash them.
Look at that cute face. How can you be mad at them? Contrary to the rabbits, the pigs were more friendly and I was the one needing to protect myself from him, not because I was afraid, but because I wanted to keep my camera safe and protect my clothes too.
At the beginning of my post I mentioned that you need to be smart and find a way to be able to take half decent photos. I was thinking how you can do that, but the only way is to anticipate their move. I know, this is a hit or miss type of action, but can't see another one. If you stay with them for longer, you can take some decent shots, but I didn't want to keep the neighbor up, so this is what I could do. The rest of the photos are not the quality you can post in this community, so most likely they are going to hit the bin.
Now let's see who do you like the most, rabbits or pigs? or both? Let me know in a comment.

This reminds me of when my parents had a field years ago where they also raised rabbits. They never had pigs because they said it was too much work. Otherwise, they had goats and lots of chickens. At that time, they certainly lived peacefully in that place, in harmony with the animals. Cheers!
I can understand why they decided not to have pigs. Their care means a lot of work, hard work. It's fun to visit them, but when you need to take care of them, it's a different story.
Rabbits maybe are easier to care for.
yeah getting good pics of animals is harder, you can do that with dogs and cats but farm animals thats an other story...pigs could be trained tough, they are intelligent and similar to dogs
rabbits are always cute
Have you ever seen a farmer who has trained his pig? 😆
Not farmers but citizens yes 😜
Like you, I'm passionate about animals. I love raising them, and I currently also raise rabbits and pigs. Check out some photos of my animals.
I love animals, and I was so excited to read your post and see that you saw so many animals when you visited your dad's house. The rabbits you showed are beautiful. And, also, a fun fact where I live, the rabbit breed that bears your name is known as the butterfly breed. They're beautiful and very hardy.
What a great post! It's a pleasure to meet another animal lover.
Your animals are cute.
Thanks for this info as I have no idea about the breeds.
As about me being an animal lover, I love them but also get too attached to them and my heart is aching to see them go one way or another. I could never raise them.
Thanks, friend. I'm glad to hear that from you. I love animals too, and I adore them. I feel the same way you do about them, which is why I raise them, but I do it out of love. The pigs I showed are mine too, but they belong more to my parents. The rabbits are my pets and my favorite animals. Thanks, friend. I really enjoyed your post and learned about you.😊😄
Hahaha, Erika looks really cute and the color blend is really cool. Giving animals names makes them more special and these ones are sure special.
!PIMP
Exactly. When you have only a few, you can afford to name them :)
Can I please know who's behind this community account?
That’s right. It’s easier to name them when they are few.
@hopestylist. I’m the curator behind this account.
That really pisses me off. They give you good rewards and then you come and take away the little I earn. Enough is enough. Stop taking what's mine!
Aw so cute. This reminded me when I was in my aunties hometown and she has a piggery. I'm the one who feed them and I always watch the babies eating while they say oink oink. 😆😆. And they are laborious but if you can sell them, it's worth it. 😆😁
I could never sell any of my animals, if I'd have any. I get too attached to them. This is why I don't have any pets.
Oh my gosh this is so funny🤠
It is indeed :)
Yay animals again! 🥰 I really enjoy contents in this platform that features animals because I love thode creatures. Rabbits are actually impossible to anticipate since they move pretty fast and not as friendly as we read on children's book but I heard some of specifc rabbit species are friendly. To answer your question, I like the pigs the most because they are born gentle. They are also sensitive but more friendly than rabbits. I saw a video of a mother pig killing her baby so I hope the video wont find you so that the way you see pigs as cute creatures stay. 😀🤣🥰
Pigs eat anything, even humans, so as peaceful as they look, you can't trust them. No worries, I'm not going to watch the video. I can't even watch animal videos as it breaks my heart to see them hunting and eating other animals. I'm sad even to know an animal is sold. I'm really sensitive this way.
Same here, I also raise pigs. Right now I only have a small one because I already sold the others. The photo looks great, so clear.
I tried my best to take decent photos.
