Back To Photos Again
Shame on me, these photos were take in February and I've never posted them. Some people would say time is flying, but it's not true. Time is passing with the exact same speed every single day, it's just that we're too busy to realize it.
Anyway, Let's see what photos I was able to capture at this exhibition. With the risk of sounding like a broken record, some angles are terrible and reflection and glare made my life a living hell, but it is what it is. I always do my best and those who want to see the photos, can see them anyway.
This photo seemed very appropriate in February, even though we had no show. It is appropriate now as well, even though it's hot summer, but it feels good to look at such a lovely snowy landscape. Hive has users from all over the world and most likely for some of you this is an everyday scene, but for me it's more like a dream, because it's really rare. Winters are no so cold anymore and I can only capture such a scene if we have frost and I'm early.
I would call this photo "Moments of a shepherd's life" and that's exactly what it is. This is a very common scene in villages where keeping livestock is the main activity, or at pastures. It's a totally different life, from so many of us are living.
This photo is a bit of a heartbreak or heartache? You rarely see such a lovely one, between two old ladies dressed in folk costumes people only wear at occasions, then I had no angle to take a photo from. Good thing there are no cameras in the exhibition room and no one sees me moving left and right, trying to find an angle to take a half decent photo. Shame though as the original photo was exceptional.
Same here. This was another wonderful photo, capturing the old lady in her home, but in fact it means a lot more. What you see in this photo is the entire life of the old lady. The wrinkles on her face, each wrinkle tells a story. The room, the furniture, the belongings are the work of their whole life. Back in their days, village people didn't redesign their home following fashion trends. So many had the same furniture for all their life. This is why when I go to such a place, I know what I'm seeing is like history, like going back in time. I also have to mention that these places and these people are slowly disappearing as the generation that comes next is different. They have different values, different lifestyle. This is why these photos are so precious.
Another lovely shot, featuring and old man walking past his hayricks, his work during summer, accompanied with the man's best friends. If there's a work I would use looking at these photos, that would be calmness.
Look at this man. You know, even without knowing him in person, that he has worked his entire life and I mean hard work. He's happy to have fire wood for the winter and he's also happy to have a radio to listen to in his limited free time. Those were different times and a very different life from what we know. Simple, but happy life.
God, I really struggled with glare and reflection, but I hope you can see the happiness on the man's face.
This was another fantastic shot. Banging my head against the wall and just hoping there comes the day when I can take photos of photos without this much struggle.
Back to the photo, this is a profession that it is on its way of disappearance. Chariots are not used as much as decades ago, cars took over and even if you find a few here and there, the wheels are not made of wood anymore.
This was a lovely one. I can't be sure if the guy was meditating or just resting, but having his dog doing the same is priceless.
And this is where the fun begins. What you're going to see is genuine Transylvanian village life.
Life after a day of work - this is what I'd call this photo. Simple life, simple people, who can enjoy playing chess. They don't hang out on social media platforms all day.
And this is my favorite of all. Would love to be the apprentice of this lovely old lady. I'd love her to teach me how to do what she does and also teach me all the tricks such an activity involves. I really admire her, working like this at her age.

It can happen, one has so many obligations and worries that one forgets, besides, I don't think it's bad to upload posts with old material, what matters is the content and the intention of that content. I'm having the luck to read your post as soon as you uploaded it, the captures you have taken are very good and it is very understandable to want to take the best pictures but it is really difficult to avoid the reflections hahaha but nobody will doubt that you did your best. I really liked these special photos of everyday life.
I would definitely not say that, but I did my best to salvage what I could. Sometimes it's extremely difficult to take photos and I'm sad because the original photos are real masterpieces and what I do is ruining them.
I understand your critical point of view but I know that even though they are not the ones you normally bring, you really tried to do your best and that is why they are good. 😋
That's an interesting exhibition, mainly focused on memories and elders life (current and old), there are some good shots, like the old lady in her house or the man doing the cheriots work... However if I have to pick my favorite it would be the first one, simply because I like landscapes and not people in photos🤣

That landscape was like an exception, as the rest were, as you say, memories and elders life. But regardless, it was a lovely exhibition.
When I read ‘thank goodness there are no cameras watching me move from one side to the other,’ I felt very identified, because I feel the same way. Those reflections mean I have to stand so close to the wall, and I don't know if the photo will turn out well... I love the snowy landscape and the faces of people like the old women or the man walking with his animals.
But I think this is my favourite because of the light coming through the window and the great craftsmanship.
I was thinking of you when I wrote that, and was wondering if you're facing the same problems, which most likely you are :)
That workshop photo is a nice pick. I like it too.
I have exactly the same problems when I go to photography exhibitions. Either the light affects me, the reflection of what is in front of me, or myself. I am always struggling to get the right angle...
