Autumn And Its Full Beauty
Over the years I've been on Hive, I remember I was always happy to go photo hunting during autumn as it's one of my favorite seasons, due to the wonderful color palette nature creates during these couple of months. Knowing your neighborhood is a must and knowing the places that offer you the best scenes for your work can save you from wondering around aimlessly, but even so, sometimes you bump into scenes that come as a gift.

I remember one year we had a storm at the end of October, before All Saints Day. After the storm passed, I had to go to the cemetery, where one of my great aunts is resting, to bring some flowers and to my surprise, the storm brought down all the leaves from the trees and as the cleaning crew had no time to cover all the area, the ground was covered by leaves and the whole place looked like a colorful carpet. What a wonderful gift it was.
This scene was this year's gift for me from nature. It was a miracle because usually streets are cleaned regularly and you don't find pedestrian walkways covered by leaves, not even if you go looking for some, but for some reason, there it was.
Lucky me, there was no one walking there, so I took a few shots and said thank you mother nature. I love the radiant, golden light the leaves give the photo.
No luck for such golden leaf carpet here, but it still looks nice once you walk down this alley.

This was another lucky shot, a gift from mother nature. I don't really like staged scenes, but this had no staging at all. I'm not sure if there's water there during summer, but now the whole place looked abandoned and the fallen leaves just added to the feeling.

The funny thing is, when these trees and bushes are green, not many are paying attention to them. Once they change color, they are starting to be attractive. This is the case with this bush. I have no idea what bush it is, how it is called, although I'm passing by it quite often.
Another thing I like to photograph during autumn, besides, golden, rusty leaves, is late flowers. Depending on the climate, of course, but in Transylvania we have the chrysanthemums during autumn, which can resist even till the snow arrives, but roses can resist early autumn cold as well.
This photo was taken on the 13th of November and this rose was still looking good.
Kind of felt sorry for those fresh buds and there was no way they had time to open in normal conditions. As you can see, some of the bigger, fully opened flowers got bitten by frost.
Some of you may be wondering why did I take this photo, or what is there to look at. Well, there's beauty in withered flowers as well, if you can see it.
Back on the legacy chain, there was a guy from Iceland, who had a tag, or a challenge regarding withered flowers and plants. He was a very good photographer, but unfortunately he's not active anymore. That's when I started paying attention to these flowers, plants, that were past their beauty period, and started taking photos of them. You can capture some really interesting petals, dry leaves or buds.
Problem is, people only see the obvious and can't even try to see beauty in anything else. While I was taking these photos, a few people were passing by, looking at me, like I was some kind of weirdo, taking photos of frozen and withered flowers. Not that it bothers me as I couldn't care less and I know it's their loss. Living with tunnel vision has its disadvantages and losses, they just don't know it.
Now tell me, am I the only weirdo here? 😆

I've been appreciating autumn colors only recently, last years, probably due to school activities that are done in that time, gathering leaves, branches and such, before it would just pass without notice for me
It's probably competing for the best season with spring photography wise
We also have still some late flower, not many but they are still good
I'm always kinda afraid to photo around too much, it's full of thieves in autumn so even people just walking and looking around get pointed and police alerted so imagine if you photo around...
I love spring too as you can photograph buds that have some nice texture, but comparing macro with colors is not the same. I don't think I can choose between the two as both are lovely, but maybe autumn is closer to my heart. I used to see autumn as the end (of everything), but not anymore 😉
I don't envy you for that. I know criminality is high in your country, especially now wit all the immigrants. Things are a bit different here and I took these photos at a park full of cameras, so no danger there.
Hmm I always seen autumn as end of the good season, but you still have fairs and walks are still easily doable... On the other hand winter is pretty much an end for me, because then you have January and February (partially march) which are super crap on everything 😂 no fairs, no colors to photo around, too cold to go for a trip
You can say it loud, immigrants spiked the illegal activities, maybe I should move there for the retirement
Well, My country is not Disneyland either, we are top of many lists for all the wrong reasons, but it is not attractive enough to immigrants. They transit the country, but rarely stay. So you'd want to pick a better country 😜
I love the colors that autumn brings us. I think many of us prefer that touch of color to green trees. Best regards
I love them too and I'm glad you like them :) Have a nice day.
Awesome shots! 🤩😍 It's really amazing.
Thank you! I'm glad you like them 😊
Your love for autumn really shines through in the way you describe those bursts of color and the surprising little scenes you find along the way. 💛
Aww, that's a really nice thing to say, thank you! I really love autumn and shame this year I could not fully enjoy it. Let's see what kind of winter we're getting, maybe we can get more sunny days than gloomy ones, but still, no season can tale autumn's place.
I've got the same feelings here!! Let's enjoy what's left of it as winter already seems quite determined to take its place this year.
How right you are, many people overlook things that are really beautiful, I always think that there is beauty in everything and you have to know how to see it. Some time ago I read mipiano saying that in Spain there are no autumns with so many leaves, that's true, but I've lived it in Argentina and it's wonderful. You have brought back beautiful memories. Thank you!💗
There is indeed beauty in everything, you just have to be willing to see, not just look. So many are walking blind and can only see their problems. 10 - 20 minutes of walk while admiring these colors can work wonders.
I've never lived in Spain, but I know the climate is way warmer and seasons are different. Winter is not cold either.
Thanks for the comment 💚 🤗
I like to be surprised by everything I walk by and to be attentive to details, they certainly make life different. Thanks to you for those photos, they are beautiful!💗
Wow, I just had a visual feast with these autumn photos you shared @erikah friend... Of all of them, the ones that left me mesmerized, gazing at them and understanding their almost poetic magic, were the close-up photos of the roses... Thank you for sharing...
P.S. This one in particular seems almost tangible just by looking at it! 😍📷🔟✔️

I'm really glad to read your comment my dear friend. Tell me something please. Is autumn something similar in your country? Do you have so many nice colors?
By the way, interesting pick 🙂
No, @erikah friend, the truth is we don't have anything like autumn here. In our country, we only have two seasons: a rainy season (from May to October, approximately) and a dry season (from November to April), and the transitions between them don't have the rich colors of something like autumn. Furthermore, for about a decade now, the duration of these two local seasons has been quite disrupted. This year, for example, it started raining the last week of March and hasn't stopped yet; the rains continue to fall with unusual regularity for it being the end of November. Obviously, at the height of the dry season (usually February and March), many deciduous trees lose their leaves, but the colors are dull, neutral, a lot of ochres and browns that aren't very striking to the eye. But it still has its charm. I personally like to photograph the trees with their bare branches when there's morning fog during those months.
I'm sending another round of applause for you and your always excellent content that you share with us!
