Art Cocktail For Thursday

It's been awhile since my last art cocktail post, so it's time to mix another one, to test the tastes of my readers.

Art Cocktail.jpg

Let's see who likes what and why. These are the questions as always and it's quite ok, if you don't like any of it. Let's get started, shall we?

20250829_120441a.jpg

This photo was taken at the end of August, at an exhibition organized by the Unitarian church, that featured the works from an art camp and I left if out of my previous post for a good reason. It's kind of unique in its own way as you don't see this style too often. I loved how the canvas was divided in four, not equal parts and each part has its own theme. The colors are vivid and the meaning is ... what you want to be. I love them all, but if I were to choose, I'd definitely go with the lower two.

20250829_120441a1.jpg

Some of you, who are reading my posts know you can buy me with a nice green-blue color combination and you have that here for sure. Some extra yellow made it more interesting. I'm not sure what's the connection between the two, or if there's one at all, so I'll let you tell me what you see here and if there's a connection between these two, or the four parts on the canvas.

20250829_120508a.JPG

The one I want to talk about is the canvas on the middle. There was no possibility to capture it alone, without the others in the frame, so my apologies for that, but I hope you can still focus on it, regardless.

This is the second such artwork from the artist I see and I can tell you, both were amazing. I loved the unconventional size of the canvas and the multitude of colors the painter used. I remember the other painting of her was a similar one in format and colors. It was a so called "street activity" on canvas, sequences of activities, just as lovely as this one. I am thinking such paintings could very well be used in narrow spaces. Love it!

20250829_120528a.jpg

Choosing the location of paintings is not an easy task and deciding which one to place next to one is even more difficult. I know this from experience as I had the pleasure to help set up a painting exhibition, but I was told not to worry as paintings will find their place and that is true. Now, who decided to place these two on the same wall, I don't know, but it wasn't the best idea. The bottom one looks like naive art. The upper one on the other hand is a beautiful tower painting. I love how the blue and gray shades are dominating.

20250829_120827a.JPG

This is the conference room of the church and although it's not part of the exhibition, I invite you to have a look at the carved wooden chandelier. You see this type of chandeliers in most of the churches, church conference rooms and offices as it's kind of traditional.

20230207_122915a.jpg

Not my best shot, reflection here was working against me, but you see the lovely landscape and the man's best friend resting and sunbathing. I can imagine the calmness and the healing power of the place. I also think the photographer knew the dog as otherwise these lovely creatures are not friendly at all. These are guard dogs and are there to protect whatever they have been assigned to protect.

20230116_113632a.jpg

This was a lovely shot (the original one, not mine) and I can only hope to have the opportunity to take a similar one one day. Unfortunately reflection and glare takes away from its value, but I still wanted to show it to you.

20230116_113741a.jpg

Moments of life, a painter from Florence, a happy one, I'd say, or just posing for the camera. If you have a closer look, you can see was painting. This is what I call freedom. He has his workshop on his bike and can work wherever he wants. The spot the shot was taken from is a lovely one.

Self Defense Kit

This was a funny one and have never seen anything similar. This is a shoulder bag that contains a gun, bu to make it interesting, the gun is not painted on the bag, but it's cut out, I mean the leather of the bag is cut out. It's a good one.

20230120_114945a.jpg

Another one and this time my photo is a bit better. Seeing such funny artworks makes you think how the artists come up with such ideas. When you see them ready on the wall, you think how good the idea is, or even simple, but can you come up with such an idea, before anyone else? That's the question.

20230317_112739a.JPG

Shelter

I love this. Simple, minimalist as well, but expressive.

20230317_113223a.JPG

Game/Play

I'm confused about this one, so, tell me what this is or what you see here.

Road Of The Huns

I love this painting. Those rusty, autumn colors are always winning me over.

So this is it for today. Tell me what you like from here and why.

The ones that are 4 parts are painted in the same canvas? I think it is but it feels like four canvas. I also like the two bottom ones.
Also the last one I really like, usually these type of paintings find them a bit boring as they are similar to a foto and also very similar (that is why i like weird abstract art), but that one in particulas has something very peaceful about it I really enjoy.
The shoulder bags are interesting haha.
Really cool exhibition in general.
Thanks for sharing.! 🤠

Yes. It may look like four canvases joined together, but it's one piece. And to me it looks like painted on wood, due to the brushstrokes. This is why I find it interesting

I'm glad you liked these pieces. It's a nice mix I'd say.

Yes I like them as they look abstract.. A particular style but very imaginative. Like it. Yes!! the brushstrokes make it look like wood indeed. I wonder If it was made on purpose.

I like the most part of them , but maybe I like more the second one and the second last. I don't know one, I think in the first I love the colors and in the last I like because I don't understand what it is (and so I can imagine everything 😃).
I Have to say something about that "special" bags: they are very interesting piece and they catched my eyes (even if they are not the kind of art I love more)! ❤️

I think first of all, you have to decide what is art for you and how you judge it. I'm not talking about your art, what you create as that is obvious. I'm talking about whether you want to buy it, or just playing with the idea of "what if I would have it in my home", or you just enjoy it at an exhibition, as the two things are very different. I have seen a lot of sculptures for example, that I have enjoyed a lot, all of those have been exceptional works, but would not place any in my home.

These bags are also part of that category. You find them interesting, but it's not what you'd hang on your wall.

Confusing? 😆

Btw, you picked some interesting ones.

My pick this time is Road Of The Huns, I love landscapes, this one is very nice and I like a lot the colors, how they are painted... Plus it's autumn and we are in autumn now!

Game/Play seems a sort of big worm? I don't really understand it

On the first one, you have on the top the sun and next the moon, they are opposite, then above under the sun you have a church, what's the opposite of it? The devil, in fact if you look there is a trident and a ugly big face under that human head, maybe the devil corrupting someone?
That's my guess if I have to

Road Of The Huns is the winner, three people mentioned it as favorite, so the gold goes to Road Of The Huns today! It's a lovely one.

It crossed my mind, but didn't want to think of such a big and ugly worm, blewww.

then above under the sun you have a church, what's the opposite of it? The devil, in fact if you look there is a trident and a ugly big face under that human head, maybe the devil corrupting someone?

Very interesting and I know what you mean.

First of all, I love the first self-defense bag! It's great and unique!

Now, of everything, what I liked the most was the artwork, or rather the four artworks in one. I see the sun and the moon, I see cycles, and above all, I see the ones at the bottom as nightscapes. What I like the most is the number of faces I see in the painting, the paintings, faces, eyes, life, death—everything is there, and it's fabulous! I love it!😍

I love the second one more, but maybe just because the bag was hanging straight.

And you're right, The first one is a masterpiece, not a boring one for sure. It forces you to think.

Works of art that convey a message are the most important.

We won't fight over bags; I'll choose the first one and you choose the second. One for each of us!😆

Not even sand as it can get you jailed in some countries, but it's not a bad thing. People need to learn not to steal and destroy nature.

Absolutely true, there are people who take things to extremes and damage everything around them.

Too many unfortunately as they only think about themselves. Selfish people!

Look, everything comes back around in life, and what they do will come back to them... it's only a matter of time.

Yeah, but by the time they realize that, the damage is done. Unfortunately.

The Shelter one feels so calm and deep. Minimalist but powerful.

No idea on Game/Play 🤔 I really like the Road of the Huns. In the first painting with the four panels, I actually like the top two. I'm drawn to brighter colors and abstract images. I guess we have different tastes. Did I fail your test of tastes? 😉

Road of the Huns seems to be the winner today and I can see why, I like it too.

In the first painting with the four panels, I actually like the top two.

The top two are nice too, maybe if these were on their own, I'd picked them.

I love the last painting "Road of the Huns". For me, the canvas captures the nature of the rural areas here. You can see the beauty of it all-it's calming and a place where you can find true solace. Also, the chandelier on the church conference room is very unique.

That painting is a really nice one, the chandelier too, but for me, it's not what I's like in my house as it reminds me of churches :)

This picture stole my heart, especially the beautiful helmet seen on the bicycle seat, which I've been looking for but can't find.
