📚 Readings that managed to surprise me this half year [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos lectores! Ya pasó medio año y como esta es una comunidad de libros vengo a compartirles un poco de aquellas lecturas que fueron una grata sorpresa y que me gustaron más de lo esperado en lo que va de este año. Estos son los libros que más se destacaron de todos los que llevo leídos, los afortunados, o mejor dicho, los que me hicieron sentir afortunada de haberlos leído.

Hello reader friends! Half a year has passed and since this is a community of books I come to share with you some of those readings that were a pleasant surprise and that I liked more than expected so far this year. These are the books that stood out the most from all the ones I've read, the lucky ones, or better said, the ones that made me feel lucky to have read them.

El juez y el pescador

Un thriller policial super atrapante que me mantuvo cautivada durante toda la lectura, de verdad no pensé que me iba a atrapar tanto. Estuvo muy bueno, tiene varios puntos de vista que luego se unen para darle sentido a la trama. El misterio es muy envolvente y el desenlace final no pasa inadvertido. La verdad es que lo super recomiendo si les gustan esta clase de lecturas.

The judge and the fisherman

A super gripping police thriller that kept me captivated during the whole reading, I really didn't think it was going to catch me so much. It was very good, it has several points of view that then come together to make sense of the plot. The mystery is very involving and the final outcome does not go unnoticed. The truth is that I highly recommend it if you like this kind of reading.

Morir queriendo ser libre

Un poemario muy hermoso que me transmitió un montón de sentimientos, no esperaba sentir tanto cuando lo leí. La poesía no es mi fuerte, pensé que me iba a costar conectar con ella, pero estaba equivocada porque este me hizo vibrar y emocionar en cada uno de sus versos. Además es un libro que transmite esperanza y deja muchos aprendizajes y enseñanzas para la vida. Es un sí rotundo.

Dying wanting to be free

A very beautiful collection of poems that transmitted a lot of feelings, I did not expect to feel so much when I read it. Poetry is not my forte, I thought it would be hard for me to connect with it, but I was wrong because this one made me vibrate and move in each of its verses. It is also a book that transmits hope and leaves many lessons and teachings for life. It is a resounding yes.

Cuentos gélido

Una antología de relatos que buscan estremecerte con el más frío y cruel invierno que hayan leído en sus vidas. De nuevo, los libros de relatos no son mi fuerte, pero llevo leyendo al autor desde principio de año y de todos sus libros, vi que en este tuvo un crecimiento notorio, por lo que decidí destacarlo, ya que me llevé una grata sorpresa con lo que leí acá. Los relatos se conectan entre sí y nos entregan una obra única con crueldad, miseria y una cuota de crítica social. El final fue mi cosa favorita.

Icy tales

An anthology of stories that seek to shiver you with the coldest and cruelest winter you have ever read in your lives. Again, books of short stories are not my forte, but I have been reading the author since the beginning of the year and of all his books, I saw that in this one he had a noticeable growth, so I decided to highlight it, since I was pleasantly surprised with what I read here. The stories connect with each other and give us a unique work with cruelty, misery and a quota of social criticism. The ending was my favorite thing.

Purgatorio

No se como catalogar este libro, les hable de él la semana pasada, por lo que no voy a ser redundante. Fue de esos libros que cayó en mis manos por puro azar del destino (literal), no planeaba leerlo y acá estamos, quede sorprendida con lo que me encontré en estas páginas, al punto de que deje todas mis otras lecturas de lado porque me atrapó por completo.

Purgatory

I don't know how to categorize this book, I told you about it last week, so I won't be redundant. It was one of those books that fell into my hands by pure chance of fate (literally), I did not plan to read it and here we are, I was surprised with what I found in these pages, to the point that I left all my other readings aside because it caught me completely.

No se confundan, son partes de mis favoritos, pero no están todos mis favoritos acá porque algunos de ellos no me sorprendieron, ya que sabía que me iban a gustar en cuanto los vi por primera vez. Well, these friends are the 4 books that managed to surprise me so far this year. Don't get confused, they are parts of my favorites, but not all my favorites are here because some of them didn't surprise me, since I knew I was going to like them as soon as I saw them for the first time.
