¡Hola amigos! Hoy les traigo la reseña de una película sueca que ingresó este viernes al catálogo de Netflix, está etiquetada como una comedia de terror y me pareció una propuesta interesante, la película se llama La conferencia.

Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of a Swedish movie that entered this Friday to Netflix catalog, it is labeled as a horror comedy and I found it an interesting proposal, the movie is called The Conference.

Trama - Plot

Un grupo de empleados que va a construir un shopping en un pueblo rural decide reunirse en una especie de campamento para fortalecer los lazos del equipo y el compañerismo. Sin embargo, el clima se empieza a tornar denso tras descubrir que hay un traidor que los quiere llevar a la ruina para beneficio propio y todo se complica más cuando los miembros del equipo comienzan a aparecer asesinados uno por uno.

A group of employees who are going to build a shopping mall in a rural town decide to get together in a kind of camp to strengthen team bonds and camaraderie. However, the atmosphere starts to become tense after discovering that there is a traitor who wants to ruin them for his own benefit and everything gets more complicated when the team members begin to appear murdered one by one.

Bueno, parecía una propuesta interesante, está bien presentada desde el inicio. Aunque el principio se me hizo un poco aburrido hasta que empezó la verdadera acción, y sí sentí los momentos de tensión que transmitió la película. Sin embargo, no deja de ser más de lo mismo. No hay un elemento nuevo o algo que destaque a lo común que me haga flashear con que es una muy buena producción. Está entretenida para pasar el rato y tiene algunas escenas muy gráficas. Creo que es un tanto gore, así que si te impresiona la sangre no la veas porque la vas a pasar mal.

Well, it seemed like an interesting proposal, it is well presented from the beginning. Although the beginning was a bit boring until the real action started, and I did feel the moments of tension that the movie conveyed. However, it's still more of the same. There isn't a new element or anything that stands out from the ordinary that makes me flash that it's a very good production. It's entertaining to pass the time and has some very graphic scenes. I think it's a bit gory, so if you're impressed by blood, don't watch it because you're going to have a bad time.

La mayoría de los personajes se me hicieron insoportables así que, para serles sincera, no me molestó mucho cuando los iban asesinando jajaja. Hay una sola muerte que lamente, pero bueno, era necesario. Aunque me pareció un poco sin sentido la manera en que ocurrió. Esto me da el pie para decir que no le encontré mucho sentido a algunas cosas que iban pasando.

Most of the characters became unbearable to me so, to be honest, it didn't bother me much when they were being killed hahaha. There's only one death I regret, but hey, it was necessary. I did find it a bit pointless the way it happened though. This gives me a reason to say that I didn't find much sense in some of the things that were happening.

Hay un personaje que no sé qué quería hacer y su fin fue un poco meh. Era uno de los villanos, por decirle de alguna manera, pero el final que tuvo me pareció que quedó un poco colgado y me dejó gustó a poco. Como si fuera un agregado de último momento cuando ya todo estaba solucionado. Creo que desperdiciaron el potencial de este sujeto.

There is a character that I don't know what he wanted to do and his end was a bit meh. He was one of the villains, to say it somehow, but the end he had seemed to me that he was a bit hung up and left me liking him a little bit. As if it was a last minute addition when everything was already solved. I think they wasted the potential of this guy.

Sí me gustó el personaje de Lina, que es uno de los principales, era la más cuerda del equipo, y también quedé muy conforme con los personajes que lograron sobrevivir, son los que mejor me cayeron. Pienso que el mensaje que querían transmitir era que el compañerismo es importante en un entorno hostil porque gracias a esto ellos pudieron sobrevivir.

I did like Lina's character, who is one of the main characters, she was the most sane of the team, and I was also very happy with the characters who managed to survive, I liked them the best. I think the message they wanted to convey was that companionship is important in a hostile environment because thanks to this they were able to survive.

Creo que el hecho de que haya sido una comedia de terror la hizo más ligera, aunque me costó encontrarle la gracia, no es mi tipo de humor. De todos modos, fue refrescante en cierto punto. También me pareció muy linda visualmente, tiene algunas tomas interesantes, la escena del principio y una de las finales me parecieron geniales con la música de corte clásico sonando de fondo.

I think the fact that it was a horror comedy made it lighter, although I had a hard time finding it funny, it's not my kind of humor. Anyway, it was refreshing at a certain point. I also thought it was very nice visually, it has some interesting shots, the beginning scene and one of the end scenes I thought were great with the classical music playing in the background.

Por momentos fue bastante predecible para mi gustó. Pero, como les dije, para pasar el rato está bien y puede que les resulte una buena propuesta si deciden verla.

At times it was too predictable for my liking. But, as I said, it's fine to pass the time and you might find it a good proposition if you decide to watch it.
