¡Hola amigos! Hoy me paso por acá para traerles mi reseña acerca de una comedia romántica que estuvo muy comentada en este último tiempo. Les estoy hablando de Eternidad.

Hello, friends! Today I'm here to bring you my review of a romantic comedy that has been the talk of the town lately. I'm talking about Eternity.

En esta historia seguiremos a Joan, una mujer mayor que un día su vida, o mejor dicho su muerte, da un giro inesperado. Tras morir se encuentra con el dilema de que debe decidir si pasar la eternidad junto a su primer marido que murió en la guerra y la estuvo esperando en esa especie de limbo durante 67 años, o si irse con su segundo marido, un hombre con el que compartió 65 años de su vida y con el que formó una familia. Ahora tiene que pensar bien lo que hará, ya que una vez que la decisión esté tomada no habrá vuelta atrás y la eternidad es muy larga.

In this story, we follow Joan, an elderly woman whose life, or rather death, takes an unexpected turn one day. After dying, she faces the dilemma of deciding whether to spend eternity with her first husband, who died in the war and waited for her in a kind of limbo for 67 years, or to go with her second husband, a man with whom she shared 65 years of her life and with whom she started a family. Now she has to think carefully about what to do, because once the decision is made, there will be no turning back, and eternity is a very long time.

Me resultó una premisa interesante y bastante hilarante por momentos, me gusto ese nuevo escenario sobre la muerte. De verdad pienso que hay algo más allá después de acá, pero no me sedujo ni un poco la idea de pasar la eternidad en un solo sitio específico para siempre. También creo que la trama se centra mucho en la decisión de si ir con uno o con otro, cuando la protagonista pudo haber elegido irse a donde quisiera sin ninguno de los dos. Creo que ese hubiera sido un final interesante y diferente, pero no se preocupen, porque esto es una romcom y triunfa el amor, el correcto.

I found it an interesting premise and quite hilarious at times; I liked that new scenario about death. I truly believe there is something beyond this life, but I wasn't at all seduced by the idea of spending eternity in one specific place forever. I also think the plot focuses too much on the decision of whether to go with one or the other, when the protagonist could have chosen to go wherever she wanted without either of them. I think that would have been an interesting and different ending, but don't worry, because this is a romcom and love triumphs, the right kind of love.

Pero mientras tanto, Luke y Larry se disputan la atención de su mujer y pasan situaciones muy cómicas, aunque por momentos la trama se me hizo un tanto vueltera por los caminos que iba tomando y que nunca terminaban por decidirse. Creo que tenía potencial para más, me pareció super original la propuesta y es una película entretenida, pero no me produjo el efecto de los que la amaron. A mí me pareció linda y listo, una buena película para disfrutar y relajarse. Ideal para los que no les gustan las películas tan románticas porque hay varios de los otros momentos.

But in the meantime, Luke and Larry compete for their wife's attention and get into some very funny situations, although at times I found the plot a bit confusing because of the directions it took and never seemed to settle on. I think it had potential for more. I found the premise very original, and it's an entertaining film, but it didn't have the same effect on me as it did on those who loved it. I thought it was nice, a good film to enjoy and relax with. Ideal for those who don't like overly romantic films because there are several other moments.

Sin embargo, es una linda propuesta y realmente pase un rato agradable viéndola. Los actores elegidos estuvieron excelentes y me resultó divertida la dinámica. Pero, repito, no es una comedia romántica que me haya conquistado por completo. Esto no significa que a ustedes les vaya a pasar lo mismo, tengo entendido que muchos la amaron de verdad.

However, it's a nice idea and I really enjoyed watching it. The actors chosen were excellent and I found the dynamic entertaining. But, I repeat, it's not a romantic comedy that completely won me over. This doesn't mean that you'll feel the same way; I understand that many people really loved it.

Lo que sí me gusto es que sea una película que le pusiera voz y trama a un dilema que me plantee más de una vez, y es esto de qué pasa si tengo dos grandes amores en mi vida, ¿qué decisión tomaría? Esas preguntas no me dejan dormir en las noches jajaja. Me da risa que ni en la muerte uno deja de tomar decisiones difíciles que pueden cambiar el curso de los acontecimientos para siempre. Es una película que recomiendo ver, es entretenida, original y con un gran elenco, además de una trama con unas ideas bien interesantes acerca de la muerte y la eternidad.

What I did like was that it was a film that gave voice and plot to a dilemma that I have faced more than once, which is: what if I have two great loves in my life, what decision would I make? Those questions keep me awake at night, ha ha ha. It makes me laugh that even in death, one never stops making difficult decisions that can change the course of events forever. It's a film I recommend watching. It's entertaining, original, and has a great cast, as well as a plot with some very interesting ideas about death and eternity.
