📚 Book Review: The Tragic Torment of Words [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos lectores! Se ve que sigo en mi poesía era, hoy les traigo la reseña acerca de otro poemario llamado El trágico tormento de las palabras de la autora Martina Beloso.

Hello, dear readers! It seems I'm still in my poetry phase. Today I bring you a review of another collection of poems called El trágico tormento de las palabras (The Tragic Torment of Words) by author Martina Beloso.

Este poemario nos hace un recorrido por los pensamientos y sentimientos de la escritora. Los poemas nos hablan de amor propio, pérdidas, desamor, ansiedad y no sentirse lo suficiente para este mundo, entre otros temas. En el libro podemos ver como la sanación se encuentra a través de la escritura y nos recuerda el verdadero valor de dejar salir todo de adentro para poder seguir adelante.

This collection of poems takes us on a journey through the writer's thoughts and feelings. The poems speak to us of self-love, loss, heartbreak, anxiety, and feeling inadequate for this world, among other themes. In the book, we see how healing can be found through writing, reminding us of the true value of letting everything out so we can move forward.

Es un poemario con el que es fácil conectar porque te hace empatizar con lo que siente la escritora y de alguna manera también te llega y te hace sentir identificada en algunos versos. Siempre me gusta decir que esta clase de libros son muy personales, propios de cada persona que los escribe y que atravesó por esas experiencias personales.

It's a collection of poems that's easy to connect with because it makes you empathize with what the writer is feeling, and in some way it also touches you and makes you feel identified with some of the verses. I always like to say that these kinds of books are very personal, unique to each person who writes them and who has gone through those personal experiences.

Pero es igual de cierto que a veces son las palabras que por ahí necesitamos escuchar, o leer en este caso, y que de eso depende que conectemos con la lectura o no. Me pasó de leer algunos poemarios y no sentir que me llegaron tanto, sin embargo, a principios de año leí uno que me pareció hermoso y me hizo sentir un montón de emociones. Con esto no quiero decir que este no lo haya logrado, pero no por completo, conecte con algunos poemas, no con todos y eso también está bien.

But it's equally true that sometimes they are the words we need to hear, or read in this case, and that determines whether or not we connect with the reading. I have read some poetry collections and not felt that they touched me very much, but at the beginning of the year I read one that I found beautiful and that made me feel a lot of emotions. I don't mean to say that this one didn't achieve that, but I didn't connect with some of the poems, not all of them, and that's okay too.

Los poemarios también son geniales para desconectar un rato y leer algo corto y ligero para cuando se quiera retomar la lectura con algo tranquilo. La pluma de la autora es sencilla y te transmite muchas emociones. Aunque no tuve un match total con este libro, igual se los recomiendo si quieren leer algo del estilo o si les llama la atención.

Poetry collections are also great for disconnecting for a while and reading something short and light when you want to get back into reading with something calm. The author's writing style is simple and conveys a lot of emotion. Although I didn't totally connect with this book, I still recommend it if you want to read something similar or if it catches your attention.
