RE: Every Day Carry Pen - Diplomat Viper

Really nice pens aren't a rabbit-hole that I've gone down yet but they're definitely interesting, especially the vintage ones. About ten years ago a friend of mine turned me onto the Fisher Space Pen when he gifted me one. Since then I've grown my collection to three—most recently a raw brass one. I always have one with me in my cars and when I travel. That Diplomat Viper is really nice!

The Fisher Space pens are fun. I had one of the compact ones that I used for years. I ended up moving away from it but I still have that pen and use it sometimes.

If you ever want to get into fountain pens or upscale roller balls (which they also make the Diplomat Viper in) then this is a great one to start with.

I like how compact they are, although I'm a bigger fan of rollerball pens than ballpoint. I'm going to go in search of a Diplomat Viper rollerball. I like the thought of a fountain pen but write almost nothing in longhand these days. It might be nice for book signings though!

That's the exact one I have. Brass barrel instead of green plastic, but same compact size.

Here is a video review of the rollerball version of the Diplomat Viper. He includes a 10% off code with a Canadian company — don't know if it is still valid or if buying from Canada would be cheaper for you, but worth a look if interested
