I remember these $2 bills being fairly common to come across in the 1970's—probably due to the bill redesign for the bicentennial. I think I have a few laying around somewhere that I've saved. I never see them in circulation anymore. It's fascinating that they're still being printed! I didn't know that.

The only time I ever see them these days is when I use them 😃 I need to get some more. I suppose banks probably don't even carry them anymore, so I'll have to call the bank ahead of time about ordering some for me next time I go to the States.
I bet you're right. There's probably no need for banks to keep them on hand. I was amazed the other day, our local Costco had silver bars in stock! I'm sure they disappeared in just a few hours.
