DIY: Shorts para niños fácil de hacer / Shorts for children easy to make (Esp/Eng)

Mi hijo ha crecido, su ropa de andar en casa le ha quedado algo pequeña, cuando fui a comprar telas, habían unas en rebaja, este estampado era una de ellas, me encantó porque es Doraemon, mi hijo le encanta también, rápidamente imaginé un short para mí y uno para él con esta tela.
Por solo 1$ puedo hacer dos piezas, dos shorts de andar en casa, a mi me fascina andar en casa con ropa infantil, es divertido y mantiene el ambiente alegre.

My son has grown up, he's outgrown his walking around the house clothes, when I went shopping for fabrics, there were some on sale, this print was one of them, I loved it because it's Doraemon, my son loves it too, I quickly imagined a shorts for me and one for him with this fabric.
For only 1$ I can make two pieces, two walking shorts, I love walking around the house with children's clothes, it's fun and it keeps the atmosphere cheerful.

Paso a paso / Step by Step

Acerca del patrón para cortar, usé un short de mi hijo, al que dejé dos centímetros de cada lado adicional al corte.
Tomé la medida de su cintura y corté la cinta engomada, luego la uní con la máquina de coser.
Tomé la tela unicolor y cosí zig zag en los bordes para hacer un bolsillo.

About the pattern to cut, I used one of my son's shorts, which I left two centimeters on each side in addition to the cut.
I took his waist measurement and cut the gummed tape, then attached it with the sewing machine.
I took the unicolor fabric and zig zag stitched along the edges to make a pocket.

Realicé un ruedo en la parte de arriba del bolsillo, luego lo cosí a una parte del short por la parte de atrás con doble costura, esto es solo para adorno.
Las cintas largas unicolor, son decoración y se cosen a lo largo de los lados laterales del short, Primero cosemos con zig zag y luego una recta, volteamos la pieza y cosemos una recta, hará que se vea más deportivo.

I made a hem at the top of the pocket, then sewed it to the back of the shorts with double stitching, this is just for decoration.
The long unicolor ribbons, are decoration and are sewn along the side sides of the shorts, First we sew a zig zag and then a straight one, we turn the piece over and sew a straight one, it will make it look more sporty.

Cierra con zig zag la parte trasera y delantera del short sin llegar hasta abajo sino hasta el corte de la entrepierna. Luego voltea al derecho y cose una recta.

Take the decorated washi tape and place it on the base and on the top, this is to cover any imperfections and to give it personality.
Take another piece of paper and repeat the first step, mark a diagonal line on the paper and cut out.
Make small folds back and forth in the shape of an accordion.

Cerramos la pieza por los lados de la entrepierna, primero con zig zag y luego con una recta.
Cosemos un dobladillo en cada lado de las piernas.
Centra la goma en la pieza, coloca la parte del empate de la goma por junto a la costura del centro de la parte trasera del short y luego marca la mitad de la goma, con una aguja o una pinza, coloca la otra mitad de la goma del lado de la parte delantera del short, de este modo la goma estará distribuida perfectamente al rededor del short.
Cose con zig zag estirando la goma verificando que esté bien distribuida.

We close the piece on the crotch sides, first with a zig zag and then with a straight line.
Sew a hem on each side of the legs.
Center the elastic on the piece, place the tie part of the elastic next to the center seam of the back of the shorts and then mark half of the elastic, with a needle or a clamp, place the other half of the elastic on the front side of the shorts, this way the elastic will be perfectly distributed all around the shorts.
Sew with a zig zag stitch stretching the elastic making sure it is well distributed.

Volteamos y cosemos una recta estirando la goma.
Con ello hemos concluido el proyecto.

HOla mi corazon, tampoco recordaba el nombre del personaje, pero si sabía de la serie animada, en seguida que mi hijo vio la tela si supo el nombre y estaba fascinado.
