DIY: Cinturon Obi - fajón japonés / Obi belt - Japanese sash (Esp/Eng)

Soy muy fan de diversas culturas, entre ellas la cultura asiática. En Tik Tok estoy viendo muchas cuestiones de moda, vestidos holgados, camisones, que los ajustan a la cintura con cinturones gruesos o en este caso cinturón Obi, este fajón japonés lo están combinando con todo y la verdad es que estiliza la figura femenina además que le da más gracia a un vestido o vestimenta poco llamativa.
A mi edad, no quiero usar pantalones ajustados al menos por un tiempo, prefiero usar vestidos largos y no tan ceñidos al cuerpo, esto es por los síntomas de menopausia que estoy teniendo, cada vez más insoportables, sofocos que me quitan el aliento, la verdad es bastante fuerte, mientras no me recetan medicación para aliviar los síntomas, estoy optando por vestirme más holgado, con telas frescas y ropa que no me haga sudar más de la cuenta.
Amo los cinturones anchos desde los años 90's que estaban super de moda, por un tiempo dejaron de aparecer en venta en el mercado, ahora están apareciendo nuevamente, de la misma forma, ya empiezo a ver jóvenes y adultos mayores como yo usando estos fajones y creo que para mí es una excelente opción porque puedo hacerlo yo misma. Hoy te enseño cómo.

I am a big fan of different cultures, including Asian culture. On TikTok, I'm seeing a lot of fashion trends, loose dresses, nightgowns, which are cinched at the waist with thick belts or, in this case, Obi belts. This Japanese sash is being paired with everything, and the truth is that it flatters the female figure and adds charm to a dress or outfit that might otherwise be unremarkable.
At my age, I don't want to wear tight pants, at least for a while. I prefer to wear long dresses that are not so tight-fitting. This is because of the increasingly unbearable symptoms of menopause I am experiencing, hot flashes that take my breath away. It's really quite intense, and until I am prescribed medication to relieve the symptoms, I am choosing to dress more loosely, in cool fabrics and clothes that don't make me sweat more than usual.
I have loved wide belts since the 90s when they were super fashionable. For a while, they disappeared from the market, but now they are reappearing. I am starting to see young people and older adults like me wearing these belts, and I think it's an excellent option for me because I can make them myself. Today, I'll show you how.

Paso a paso / Step by Step
Step 1️⃣/ Paso 1️⃣

Para el patronaje:
Toma las medidas del ancho de tu cintura, a esa medida le agregas 2 centímetros más, ahora divide en dos la medida.
Apunta el largo en un papel y traza una línea con 10 centímetros de ancho y recorta.
Divide el papel en dos y marca una línea, deja dos centímetros de cada lado del final del papel y marca un centro de 6 centímetros, traza una línea curva desde la mitad a la marca de 6 centímetros, recorta.
Para las tiras, vas a necesitar un patrón de 10 centímetros de ancho por 50 de largo.
Corte de la tela
Recuerda que el patrón está dividido por la mitad, por lo cual cuando cortes la tela, debes agregar los centímetros restantes, para que quede prolijo, tan solo dobla la tela por la mitad para cada pieza.
Necesitas, dos piezas para la parte central (que tiene la curva) y dos piezas que serán las tiras y son los rectángulos, a las tiras también debes doblar la tela por la mitad para que sumen los 100 centímetros completos.
Une los derechos y comienza cerrando con zig zag. Si usas una tela que no es muy firme, puedes usar friselina.

For the pattern:
Measure the width of your waist, add 2 centimeters to that measurement, and then divide the measurement in half.
Write down the length on a piece of paper, draw a line 10 centimeters wide, and cut it out.
Divide the paper in half and draw a line, leaving 2 centimeters on each side of the end of the paper and marking a center point 6 centimeters away. Draw a curved line from the middle to the 6-centimeter mark and cut it out.
For the strips, you will need a pattern that is 10 centimeters wide by 50 centimeters long.
Cutting the fabric
Remember that the pattern is divided in half, so when you cut the fabric, you must add the remaining centimeters to make it neat. Just fold the fabric in half for each piece.
You need two pieces for the center part (which has the curve) and two pieces for the strips, which are the rectangles. For the strips, you must also fold the fabric in half so that they add up to the full 100 centimeters.
Join the rights and start closing with a zigzag stitch. If you are using fabric that is not very firm, you can use interfacing.

Une las piezas solo por los laterales, primero con zig zag luego con una recta.
Voltea la pieza por el derecho.

Join the pieces together only at the sides, first with a zigzag stitch and then with a straight stitch.
Turn the piece over to the right side.

Para las tiras:
Dobla la tira por el centro con el derecho hacia adentro, cierra costura con zig zag y luego una recta dejando solo una abertura, cuando cierres una punta procura que la costura quede en el centro.

Fold the strip in half with the right side facing inwards, sew a zigzag stitch and then a straight stitch, leaving only one opening. When you close one end, make sure the seam is in the center.
Step 4️⃣/ paso 4️⃣

Voltea la tira y repite este procedimiento con la otra tira.
Recomiendo planchar cada pieza. Las tiras de los lados plancha dejando la costura en el centro.
Ahora cose por la orilla por el largo de cada lado, dejando los extremos abiertos.
Para que no tengas problemas uniendo la pieza central con las tiras, recomiendo coser un zig zag.
Introduce la pieza de la tira dentro de la pieza central por la abertura y dobla hacia adentro, luego cose una recta por la orilla.
Repite el procedimiento uniendo el la otra tira con la otra punta.
Ahora pasa una recta por el borde por toda la pieza.
Con ello culminamos un hermoso fajón japonés.

Turn the strip over and repeat this process with the other strip.
I recommend ironing each piece. Iron the side strips, leaving the seam in the center.
Now sew along the edge of each side, leaving the ends open.
To avoid problems joining the center piece with the strips, I recommend sewing a zigzag stitch.
Insert the strip piece into the center piece through the opening and fold it inward, then sew a straight line along the edge.
Repeat the process, joining the other strip with the other end.
Now sew a straight line along the edge of the entire piece.
This completes our beautiful Japanese sash.
