nightwalk

it's been a while since the nights started becoming dark again. though the light nights of summer are special i for one am glad to see a return to 'more normal' conditions of day and night.

so at dusk we took a long walk to a place with a good overview of the sea hoping to see the moon rise in the clear sky

in the west the sky was still red as we waited for the moment

when all of a sudden

it was there. i used different shutter speed settings and zoom lengths for this series and i've mixed up the order a little but all these shots are from the same night

that was a great show but we had a long walk back to town

the moon kept rising

as the last light was dimming in the west

back in town again close to home we have a great overlook of the harbor

the night was so pleasant we didn't want to go inside so we just enjoyed the view when one of us decided to try shaking things up a bit

we had seen others mess around with night lights but we had never tried it much ourselves. we played around like kids until we got cold enough to call it a night

and what a night it was.
