my hat collection

time to put my hats (think cards) on the table

in the summer it's mostly about caps to keep the sun off my balding head

i had forgotten this cap on a visit to my son but i just got it back a few days ago when i was there again. all the more reason to be happy.

i often wear this one here in norway but folks don't relate to it. but my family are all patriots fans and i make sure i have it with me when i visit back home in New England. i've had it for years and it's faded and showing signs of wear but that's ok with me.

good thing i have a couple of caps for doing carpentry or painting and such.

but living by the sea i need one with a maritime look. this Greek captain's hat is just the thing.

but the summer is short this far north and the autumn is windy so i need ear flaps. i wear this irish one proudly as it always reminds me of my grandfather who was born there.

over the years i have acquired a few feathers in my cap

i'm sure most people associate norway with cold weather and rightly so. warm hats are essential

and for winter sports a hand knit woolen cap with a traditional design is the go-to item

when the thermometer approaches -20 and the wind is fresh you need serious headgear such as this classic Finnish design.

now that the show is over it's time to pass the hat.

The hat collection is impressive. Each of the hats serving a purpose makes them all the more useful. I do hope you are coping with Norwegian weather this time of the year. Thanks for writing. Happy Thursday.

thanks. i use each of my hats depending on conditions. now the weather is pleasant but cloudy so there is no need for any hat at all.

Very nice and varied collection of hats, each one with its purpose hehe I used to have many, but either I sold them because they were too small or they were for children or I didn't like them haha

Cheers, they are all very nice 👌

Wow good friend, I love the personal stories behind each hat. The Irish one with ear flaps looks especially sentimental and cozy.
