entry smash 384: at a snail's pace

there's no getting around

it. summer is snail season like it or not. even though i would prefer they stayed out of our red currant bush i rather like these odd creatures. carrying their house on their back and taking life at their own pace. and what about those eyes? on stalks no less. i learned that snails don't have the muscles required for auto focus instead they use their stalks to focus manually. they can't see much but their entire body is sensitive to light AND SHADOW. well maybe not it's own shadow, that's a job for a shadow hunter
